Tweedies Bar, Grasmere. Golden amber, clear. Tight head. Little or no aroma. Sweetness and some fruityness. Not enough from the hops for my taste but perfectly drinkable.

Cask, handpump @ The Coal Orchard, Taunton, Somerset. The head is shortlived, a fleeting loose froth of white atop a bright medium amber body. Fresh baked white bread, toasted oats, peach and orange marmalade and a little barnyard must on the nose. Watery palate, quite thin, grainy with light citrus notes and a dry, musty finish. Has a sour, tangy edge to it that builds around the swallow with a lingering toothpick and straw flavour. Pretty average stuff considering the level of British Golden Ales on offer. Not Bays best!

[Cask at the First and Last, Penzance] Golden amber with a moderate white head and moderate fizz. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel; a mild citrus flavour and a slightly dry finish. Not a lot to it, but certainly very easy to drink; you could quickly knock back a few of these!
