Bottled, thanks DSG! Hazy golden, small brief head. Buttery fruity nose. Sweet and soft, medium bodied with vanilla and creamy orange. Finishes slightly lactic with low bitterness. More a fruity, creamy helles than a pilsener.

Oakes (12723) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 7, 2011
Hazy blonde with a big, Belgian-ish head. Has a dusty, Duponty nose complete with hops and bready malts. The malts on the palate are a mix of thin and doughy. The hops, sadly, do not materialize on the palate. Ok overall, but disappointing after that nice nose.

In Ordnung! Danke an Barak für das Bier! Test vom 21.3.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,9,9,8,11,9 - 8,85

Bottle shared by Shay and Lorraine at tasting at my house. Pours cloudy gold with white head. Nose and taste of lemon cake, bready malt, old stale grain and touch of skunked grain. Lighter medium body.

Bottle at a tasting at James’ place. Pours a lightly hazed gold with a thin white head. Sweet bready fruit and yeast. Medium-bodied, sweet with a bit of grain and musk. Grainy, dry and bready into the finish. Some light skunky notes, old grain.

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2010 Re-rate 8/11/10: Bottle. Clear golden with a slowly-diminishing medium white head. Aroma of grains, hay, some bread and some noble hops. Flavor starts with sweetish bready malt, light graininess and finishes dry and crisp with bitter spicy, grassy, slightly herbal hops and light notes of citrus. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Quite a well-made Pilsener. 6/3/7/3/13=3.2

The following ratings are for the older version called "Beerat HaEmek":
Re-rate 9/28/08: Draught at the brewpub. Slightly hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma has light yeasty notes, some butterscotch and faint hoppiness. Sweetish malty flavor with light diacetyl notes, a a mildly bitter finish with some hops. Medium-bodied. Slightly too buttery but still not bad. 6/3/6/3/13=3.1

Re-rate 11/5/07: Bottle. Slightly hazy golden color. Aroma of grassy hops, some malt, and a bit of fruits. Flavor starts with some malt sweetness and maybe a hint of caramel. Ends with a long, bitter, hoppy finish. Light to medium body. I’m very surprised, but this tastes better to me now, at home, from a bottle, than when I’ve had it on tap at the brewpub. It also seems more German Pilsener-ish now. Nicely done! 6/3/7/3/14=3.3

Draught sample at the the brewpub. Clear golden with a white head. Hoppy aroma, a bit grassy and with a bit of malt. Malty sweetish flavor with a rather bitter hoppy finish. Body is a bit too light. OK but nothing more. Also, I’m not absolutely sure this should be categorized as a "Classic German Pilsener" since it has a bit too much malt character, but the brewer is German and the hops are German, so what the hell. 5/3/6/3/11=2.8

Beershine (5218) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - JUN 14, 2011
Bottle. Gold with slight haze. Stable head forms like a Belgian, and appears to have Belgian yeast. This is confirmed by the aroma, which is Pelgian pils-like or at least Belgian strong ale-like. Nice perfume and citrus (orange or Indian sweetlime juice). Soft palate. Yeasty funk and a little unfortunate sourness and pedio. Maybe has an infection but not enough to impede enjoyment. Has a high degree of astringency. Like sucking on a raw persimmon. The citrus also carries through. Not the most well-executed beer, and although more than ok at first, it gets worse by the sip.

re-rate from brewpub. Is hazy pale blonde. Funky aroma has pedio and sweet, nutty cereal. No hops :( 4-3-4-2-8 = 2.1
