COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
B.B is a Czech quality lager from the famous city Budweis , where good beer has been brewed for more than 700 years. Our brewery was founded by the citizens of Budweis in 1795. We were the first brewery from this region named "Budweiser Bier". Our long brewing histor enable us to make a traditional Czech premium dark lager - appreciated for its brown colour, caramel taste and well balanced bitterness.

Pours a ruby color with a well retained small head.

The aroma is very sweet & malty with some molasses and a bit of dead leaf.

The flavor is sweet and lightly roasty with notes of vanilla and cola. The beer has a very low level of bitterness all around.

500ml Green Bottle, bottle has the B.B. Burgerbrau ‘Original Czech Lager – Dark”, & ‘1795’ on a dark red shiny label, no date found on label, 4.5% alc. on label not 4.7% as listed here on RB, has a dark brown and dark gold pour with a light tan head that falls to a ring and sparse cover, there is mild effervescence in the glass, aromas of bread, dark bread, grassy hops(?) and dark malt sweetness, toasted bread and dark bread with faint chocolate and caramel flavors, not much hop bitterness on the palate or at the finish, some malt flavor trails after the finish, medium mouth feel, very easy to drink or gulp down, I sense this beer would have been better if drank fresh and I did not find a Best By Date, so, I do not know how old this beer is, there was no skunkiness in this sample but I would like to find this fresh to compare.

A sweet dark lager. I can’t recollect that aroma, but I thought the flavor was quite uninspiring without being bad. If you like a sweetish beer - go for it.

[Sampled in 2005.] A nice and easydrinkable brew, which runs fast down without problems. A kind of a lawnbier. Ok sometimes

Bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with a rather short lasting off-white head leaving a poor lacing. Mild roasty and caramellic aroma. The flavour has a a sweet mild roasted maltiness, slightly chocolateish with some coffee and bitter hops. Quite sweet bitter finish. Good but still its a bit too sweet.
