Bottled. Flowery, saaz hoppy aroma. Slightly sweet, worty and hoppy taste. Some herbal notes in the slightly bitter finish. A drinkable bohemian pilsner.

Barva: zlatá, světlejší, pěna bílá, hustá. Vůně: chmelová s nádechem rybízu. Chuť: ovocná s chmelovým dozvukem. Mírná stopa kyselosti. Sladký konec na patře přebíjí chmelovou hořkost.

11.1oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Appearance is a slightly hazy light gold. A white head is quick to fade leaving a ring around the top of the beer. No lacing at all. Smell is kind of dirty. Grassy hops are present but above that is an odd malt scent that is not quite caramel or roasted but just smells like dirt. The flavor continues this odd caramel/roasted/dirty malt flavor along with the grassy hops. The beer is a little too sweet and the bitterness not quite enough. Mouthfeel is good, though. Overall a somewhat lackluster example of a czech pils. I doubt I will get it again.

Clear golden, white head, some lacing. Malty nose with some bready notes. The taste is malty, with hints of sweetness. Crisp, bready finish with a surprisingly hoppy aftertaste. Refreshing.

ElDesmadre (469) - Mikołów, POLAND - SEP 21, 2011
Bottle. Green bottle, that is, so the aroma is pretty much skunked. Other than that it is macromalty, sweetish-sourish and only the hop level is slightly above that of trashy macrolagers. Same goes for the taste - sweetish, macromalty and slightly more assertively hopped than the common macrolager. Crap, significantly worse than the Budvar 12°.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with a medium white head. The aroma is fruity hoppy with some malty notes. The flavour is grain, bread, hops and ends up quite bitter.

500ml can (as "B.B. Budweis Bohemia", 4.8%)
6- Big bready aroma, real bread, with real crusts. In fact upon opening the can and first starting to pour, I got a roast with almost toasty hints to it. Quite impressive for a pale coloured beer.
3 Bold orange, large white heaed settles to a ring and a film.
4+ Oooh, a little aspartamey in the mouth - it’s sweetish, and with a phantom bitterness that makes you think that they were trying to hide it, but failed (as it’s not that pleasant). Very yeasty upon first swallow.
3- It is full bodied and smooth, I’ll grant them that. Carbonation fairly restrained. Finish bounces between the yeastiness, the breadiness, and the artifcial sweetener. Only 1 out of those 3 is pleasant to me.
9 Mixed bag. Full flavoured, but not so clean. Nothing that’s an outright flaw though, just not my kind of beer. Pretty OK to sniff though, drinking it was the mistake.
