COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Got hops? This vicious IPA does, boasting powerful hop flavor and aroma. Out Hammerhead combines a carefully selected malt base. three varieties of boil hops, and a generous dry-hop to form an India Pale Ale with exceptional balance.

22oz bottle-pours amber with a rich offwhite head that dissipates. Aroma is pine/resin, some light malt. Taste is drying pine/resin hops with some bite, some light malt with a bit of sweet.

Tap. Pours pale amber/orange, slightly hazy, with a medium off-white head, decent staying power and good lacing. Aroma is dominated by grapefruit, with some grassiness. Taste is grassy, citrus, with some malt body and a bitter dry finish. Crisp and medium to full bodied. Seemed like a good offering to me.

12oz bottle. Floral hop aroma. I almost taste a hint of cinnamon in this beer. Clarity is poor.

651mL thanks to Travlr. Hazy orange pour with a diminishing white head. Little lace. Nose is heavy onion with root vegetables and sour tea. Really funky. Very strange. Taste is quite sappy and bitter with pine bark. Palate is full bitter. Not so bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

First beer of the BeerandBlues2 pub crawl, while waiting for Brad to arrive. Cloudy golden color, large white head. Aroma of fresh pine. Taste is bitter resin, some fruit, mostly pine. Decent.

Bottle. This pours a rusty orange, slightly cloudy, with a big head of white foam. The initial aroma is spicy, with a coriander-like kick. No surprise then that this carries to the tongue, drinking like a Belgian farmhouse beer more than an American IPA. Enjoyable though ... (#4519, 3/9/2012)

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2012 Bottle. Shimmering amber with a short, foamy white head. Strong citrus and pine in the aroma with soft malt and caramel. Taste up front is big citrus, grapefruit pulp, pine and floral hops followed with sweet malt, light caramel and soft spicy hops. Body is medium with a soft, creamy carbonation and slight oiliness. Ends with more pine resins and grapefruit juice with sweet malt, light caramel and spicy hops. Nice sessionable IPA!

A good head but a light looking body. Decent bitterness, Iím guessing 60 IBU,however a bit on the light side in mouthfeel. C-hop aroma certainly there. The malting does not do it justice in terms of bringing out the flavour. .radekís bottle from his most recent trip down to the brewpub.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2012 This review is from the first batch of this IPA. I have heard itís been re tweaked a bit. Iíll re rate this once I have the re tweaked recipe. Hammerhead pours a dark amber color with a small white fluffy head. Good lacing. When I put my nose up to this beer I got zero hop aroma. I kept on trying and trying to get something but there was nothing there. Thereís a bit of a sweet malt character but thatís it. I honestly donít remember the last time I had an IPA lacking any kind of hop aroma. Anyway on to the taste. So hopefully things change here but no they donít. I do get some bitter hop mouthfeel here but nothing that screams IPA to me. If I ordered this beer without knowing it was supposed to be an IPA, there would be no way I would know. Really lacking. Sweet malt once again. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, decent carbonation, and like I said above, there was a good amount of bitter mouthfeel here.

On tap at brewery tasting room
Aroma: straight clean hop character. Proper well balanced with malty notes. 7+.
Appearance: amber with medium plus top.3+
Palate / Taste: clean medium bodied bitter ale. Straightforward IPA , none of harshness , drinkable bitter approach. Very drinkable.
