Growler courtesy of dkachur at the 15th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering on 07/16/2011. Clear golden amber body with a small frothy off-white head. Sweet nutty and malty aroma. Dry nutty flavor with some floral notes. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Excellent aroma of grapefruit and dried fruit, nice amber color with a good head. Terrible chalky taste, with a metallic watery palate.

January 2011. Iíve sampled this one on tap at the brewery as well as from the bottle. Amber color with a nice white head. Nice hop balance, citrus and floral aromas. Dry finish that last for a bit. Not bad at all.

Hammerhead IPA is very quaffable. This is a very hoppy beer and the addition of hops in the dry hopping stage is noticeable. ---Rated by E. Rhodes via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Orange and caramel malt aroma. Golden yellow color with small head. Sweet orange caramel malt and moderately bitter orange peel hops flavor. Really like a malty IPA - probably in the minority.

Pours a hazy golden with a nice foamy white head and some lace. Aroma is of, of all things, manure, urine, pine hops, some citrus. Really musky. Nice flavor, however, mostly pine and citrus hops.

Ugh...didnít like this beer. Aroma was near nothing. Thin and metallic with a hint of hops. Pour was a nice cloudy medium gold with a puffy two finger off white head. Taste was thin and nasty. The bitterness was there, but it wasnít a hoppy bitterness. It was like a putting your finger in your mouth after youíve been handling change bitterness if that makes sense to anyone. Very thin mouth feel and the nice strong carbonation drowns out any real flavors. The finish leaves an uncomfortable bitterness in the throat. Very weird and not good.

The pour is a hazy orange with a quickly falling white head. The nose is citrus hops and fruity bubble gum. The flavor is lightly bitter with a dry finish.
