note: 108 IBUs now.
this beer needs some fresh ratings. new recipe, newly canned on 2/4/15. it was mediocre, but hopefully the change in profile will change the current desire and outlook!
N - nose is fairly similar, but has a sweeter, more distinct character. you can tell there are citra hops present now.
A - murky, dark, almost blood-orange color. average head and lacing.
T - is this even the same beer? big bursts from the citra hops jump right out. almost a buttery character - this is all of a sudden a must-have local (read: 757/hampton roads) DIPA, and the only local one brewed often enough.
P - not flashy, nothing to dismiss. biting, stinging, no grapefruit though.
O - if you’re in VB, you have to get some of this. this went from "meh" to very good overnight. as long as they can brew enough to keep this fresh, i’ll be happy.

Draft pour at Novemberfest 2014. Poured a dark golden orange color with a small white head. Aroma was plenty of resin pine notes, some grassy notes. Light hops. Flavor was bitter hops, pine, herbal. Some booze comes through.

Sampled at a Halloween party. Thanks Shep. Cool looking can. A big hop blast here that was vegetable, pine, grapefruit, and citrus. A nice malt base definitely holds its own with the hops. A big beer and it brings a lot.

16 oz can. Bottled on 09/17/14. (Grape & Gourmet) Virginia Beach,
Clear dark amber colour with a small off-white head.
Sweet malt, cookies and mild hops in the aroma.
The flavour is very bitter, resiny and grapefruity hoppy and alcoholic. Harsh one. Bitterness stays.

Can pours a clear orange with some creamy, white head. Nose has a lot of orange peel and pine, some candy, some soap. Flavor is sweet, candy, honey, orange, pine, soap, a little herbal. Full bodied, bitter finish. Finishes a little tannic too.
