3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at the brewery. Deep, black pour. Good mocha foam. Nice lace. Licorice and smoke nose. Taste is quite bitter, earthy, lots of pine, big soil and earth. Palate is acidic dark chocolate, lemon twang. Very bitter overall. Enjoyable, though too much soil, gritty earth.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Draught pours really dark. Tastes of chocolate and coffee. Light follow though with coffee after tones. Over all not a bad stout.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours black, decent deep tan head, a bit loose, fades relatively quickly. Aroma of chocolate, some bitter coffee, and earthy hops. Flavor is a match. Relatively medium bodied. Hops definitely present, unfortunately they had an earthy and slightly floral aspect that I personally did not care for. A touch of tartness on the finish. The whole thing just became odder and odder and odder as it warmed up, and not in a good way. Not my favorite, but glad to see a new brewery down at the beach.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted chocolate and alcohol aroma. Medium over roasted chocolate malt flavor with a medium burnt sweet bite finish of moderate duration. Medium body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. Good start, weak finish beer.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle via a trade. Pours with a quite large, deep brown to tan head that settles over a menacingly dark, black hued body with reddish highlights. Great retention and lace. Aromas are oddly ester forward, dark fruits, vinous, currants, cherries. Overpowering fruit and other aromas that would point to an infection. Moderate roast aroma, nutty, fudge, low hops, some alcohol. Flavors show that this is a bit infected. Mild acidity. Chocolate, medium roast, black currant, dark fruits. Lasting tobacco and a ton of esters. Big dark fruit character, medium bitter, chocolate, alcohol, iodine. Long duration. Medium carbonation, fuller bodied. Some tartness lingers.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle to snifter. Looks good; black with lacing. Smells roasty and malty. Tastes over-roasted and sour (which isnít good for this style). Mouthfeel is bad for the style too. Bummer.

Roasted chocolate and coffee aromas. Flavors mirror the aromas. Mouth coating finish. Overall a pretty solid imperial stout.
