Draft at Taphouse/Queensway. Prototypical American red ale ... Muddy red with a decent head. Mellow caramel with a slightly nutty finish. Not in the least bit adventurous but cleanly made and even keeled. (#4518, 3/7/2011)

Aroma: malty with noticeable hop notes. Clean in character. Mild.
Appearance: dark amber , touch of red. Creamy mid top with some lace.3+
Palate / Taste: medium light bodied. Caramel malts, proper clean in character. Not very adventuring but brewed well. Easy going brew.

Draft at Southwind Cafe in Mathews VA: aroma is dried leaves and cherries. Clear copper pour, headless. Cherry flavor with vanilla undertones and a black pepper finish. Odd combination of fruit and spice, but it wasn’t awful.

Somehow this Red tasted like a Brown to me. Enjoyable, but very similar to many Brown Ales.
