3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, USA - JUN 2, 2010
Draught at the giants brewfest. Dark red with a light beige head. Toasty and lightly roasted malt aroma. The flavor has a sweet toasty caramel sweetness and a dry toasty, almost roasted malt edge that reminds me a lot more of a brown than a red. A little lacking on body and mild on the hops. An odd brown-red hybrid type ale that could use a healthy hop balance.
