May 27, 2008 Light brown with slight haze. Plummy aroma with light toasty notes. Fairly husky body, with light chocolate/fudge accents. Very much like a hot chocolate powder in the finish.

May 22, 2008 Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of dark bread, roasted anddark chocolate, light aromas of herbs and dough for the hops and yeast, with tar and pepper in the background. Head is creamy, white, with no lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is dark brown with a red tint. Flavor has almost no sweetness, but is lightly acidic to start, and finishes moderately bitter and a little sour. Palate is medium, watery and bit creamy, and has a lively carbonation. It finishes a touch chalky. Good aromas with slightly off flavors.

Feb 17, 2008 Bottle. Nice deep almost black pour with a thin even tan head. Mild chocolately sweet aroma with a light nuttiness. Pretty thin slightly roasty taste, not really much going on. Slightly soured finish. Pretty basic and the taste borders on bland.
