Bottle thanks to ibrew2or3, thanks Dave. Pours a deep chestnut color with a large light brown head. The aroma is very nice; rich toasted almonds, toasted malts, chocolates, roasted coffee as well. The flavor is very good; rich lightly roasted malts, chocolates, almonds, cherries, lots of vanilla and caramel. Very enjoyable. A style I love.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ibrew2or3 (4914) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - APR 2, 2009
Pours deep dark brown with thin tan head. The aroma is roasty to mildly burnt with a light pulse of molasses and earthiness. The taste is modestly roasty to burnt – like and moves into sweetness from malts and a touch of molasses. It finishes with tepidly growing roasty to burnt malts. Pretty nice stuff for Florida. To quote one person from the tasting, “this doesn’t suck.”

Bottle, courtesy Ibrew2or3. Clear brownish red pour, minimum head and lacing. Some roast in the nose, mostly flowery hops, some smooth cocoa. Grainy flavors, some roast, chocolate and caramel and some wheat, too. Very drinkable, nice soft creamy body.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20 Sammy (6113) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 21, 2009
Sadly, the best of the bottles I sampled at the brewery, and found and opened as a favour. A little lace, neutral aroma oddly, watery and above average carbonation. There was some roasting, chocolate malt and coffee.
