3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Stone Collaboration with Beachwood and Heretic, this DIPA uses new his varietals, Azacca, Belma, and HBC 342. A floral nose leads to a crystal clear IPA with a 1 inch frothy head. A balanced bitterness mingles with an original fruity flavor similar to citrus zest. Overall, solid, but not overly memorable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
July 20th, 2014 - Unapologetic, dank, and brutal, this Collaboration brew has more than a whiff of Stone’s style, beginning with that sweet, tangy and weedy hops on the nose. Lots of high floral notes like jasmine, too, and touches of pineapple and tangerine, too, reflecting the color of the tropical hued brew. Now, the flavor is somewhat conditioned by the Chipotle burrito and sriracha I just ate, but there’s a lot of sweet up front, followed by cannabis and pineapple, lasting long and well through the aftertaste with a slow, sweet fade.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
100 mph fast ball of hop so lacks complexity but makes up for it in punch. Loved it. Pine filled.
On tap in San Fran.

Pours a deep dark orangish amber color. Aromas of big hop action, sweet malts, and more hops. Flavor has some caramel malty tastes with nice grapefruit and floral hop taste.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This is - or was, as most of this is from old notes - a super mango and grapefruit hob bomb, with plenty of pine and sweet malts for balance. Intense and one of my all-time favourite beers. So glad an updated version is coming this summer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled July 2014
A steady pour into my Sierra Nevada IPA glass produces a three-finger thick, pale tan colored head that leaves some nice lacing on the sides of my glass. The beer is a rich copper hue that shows a brilliantly clear, almost metalic, bright copper / gold hue when held up to the light. The aroma has a nice mix of hoppy fruit and herbal notes to it; specifics of guava, lychee, candied tangelo zest, lots of floral tropical fruit, as well as lighter notes of pine, woody herbs, a touch of pepper character.
A fuller mouthfeel easily characters an explosive hop fruitiness up front that ends with a lingering bitter, and herbal note. Ample guava, lots of lychee, bright kumquat zest, floral peach nectar, and spicy tropical fruit notes that moves into peppery notes that have a grassy, herbal edge that has a touch of hemp, spicy pine, mentholated rosemary, and concentrated herbal sap that provides quite a bit of spice character here. There is a touch of warming alcohol to the finish that accentuates the spicy and herbal notes. The body is just light enough to not be too much, it definitely has some chewiness and viscosity to it, but in the end the bitter herbal hops are able to thin things out in the finish.
Definitely a tasty IPA, this is definitely on the big side for me, a bit more and I would say it was too much.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Orange color with am attractive sticky of white head. Nose of pine and oxidized hops. This bottle says July 15 of 14 as the bottle date even though I bought it today. Flavors of old grapefruit, card board and pine over a thick caramel sweetness and doughy breadiness. I was hoping for more from this but this bottle seems lacking in the hop department.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma makes this beer as most of stones do. Aroma is a bunch of grapefruit and lemon citrus. Malt back is evident even thigh it is hop forward. Really great collab!

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 oz bomber served in a tulip glass. Pours hazy golden orange with medium thick fluffy white head. Aroma is light caramel malt, and juicy floral light citrusy hops. Taste is lightly sweet malt, then big juicy citrusy hops. Some pleasant resiny and lightly dank flavor there, but the citrus notes dominate. Some grapefruit but mostly orange, tangerine, and a bit of lemon. Slight lingering bitterness before finishing clean. Just another outstanding DIPA from Stone and Friends...
