Amalgamator is our newest "West Coast" IPA that’s bursting with unique aromas and flavors. A light base of American 2-row malt makes way for the hops to take the stage. Amalgamator is hopped in the kettle with Amarillo, Warrior, Columbus, and Mosaic, a brand new American variety. The dry hop is a massive charge of Mosaic that lays down an amalgam of passion fruit, dank resin, and citrus aromas.

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2015 Had on-tap, on cask, and in the bottle. Review is for the bottle - bomber poured into shaker pint. Appearance is clear orange body with off-white head that has good retention and leaves some sticky patches on the glass. Aroma is super tropical with passionfruit and pineapple, solid citrus with grapefruit and orange peel, and finally some wet pine hop dankness and melon. Taste starts with some biscuit malt sweetness and then quickly yields to tropical fruit juice sweetness and citrus rind bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, bitter finish.

On tap at Falling Rock poured a clear orange amber with a small lasting creamy ivory head. Aromas of bread, earthiness, grapefruit, pine and dankness. Palate was light bodiec and crisp with a smooth dry finish. Flavors of bread, fruitiness, pine and light grapefruit with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.

Clear golden hue under a thin white little cap. Big resiny and fresh picked leafy hops on the nose with a touch of pith and doughy pale malt. Really delightful flavor that’s crisp, bright, resiny bitter and a bit fresh and leafy. Lightly doughy pale malt backs it up. Bright and clean and resiny and rich hoppy flavors dominate.

Poured from a bottle. Light gold. Fairly cloudy. Lots of lacing from a fairly small head. Tropical fruit aromas. Grapefruit bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Hops & Pie. Clear golden appearance with a fluffy, lasting white head and light lacing. Fresh nose of zesty, floral, citrus, light grassy and light herbal hop aromatics. Similar flavor, adding medium to heavy bitterness and light hop resin with a light dry finish. Fresh, crisp and clean and pretty damn tasty overall.

22. Thanks, G! Really appreciate your going and getting this for us. Pours a cloudy burnished medium amber with a loose and sudsy whitish head and plenty of lace. Big grapefruit and orange peel aroma. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Light caramel with tons of grapefruit, orange peel, and lemon zest on the mid palate. Light resin finish. So nice.

Medium golden with white foam, medium effervescence slightly creamy, medium bodied. Ample bouquet of diesel fuel, parsley, mild skunk. Some bits of berry flavor with smooth light caramels, toast and cookie. The finish is lightly astringent with lingering bitter. This is a fantastic beer. A massive profile in a substantial but not overwhelming package.

(tap) clear, bright yellow Amber colour with a small beige head; aroma of grapefruit, tropical fruit; assertive well balanced flavour with a long, medium bitter finish; more flavourfull than many competing DIPAs

Bottle thanks to Jess. Thanks for a Wants beer! Bottle to snifter. Nose starts with an earthy dankiness. Warns to show some grapefruit citrus character. Fairly clear gold with small white head. Some honey malt character as it warms in aroma. Taste is initially bitter with a pithy rind like sensation. After a couple of sips, that smooths out to show some hop flavor of pine and grass. The flavor seems to be dominated by the bitterness which is a shame because the nose really shines on this beer.

Type: 16-oz. can Glass: Beer Nerd tulip From: Bine & Vine Bottle Shop in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif. Price: $9.59 Purchased: Jan. 13, 2016 Consumed: Jan. 13, 2016 Misc.: Born on Jan. 11, 2016 (are you kidding me?) Saw two things that piqued my interest and eventually had me purchase it. 1) Beachwood Brewing and 2) Limit 1 per customer. Bottle is calling for Amarillo, Warrior, Columbus, Mosaic, passion fruit, blueberry, dank resin and citrus. Super psyched about this one. Poured a honey, pale, clear color with 4-to-5 fingers of off-white, fluffy head. Tons of bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass, looking like a snow globe. Very good amount of foamy, layered lacing on the sides of the glass. Excellent foamy retention. (Sight - 4.25) Hops dominated the smell, getting Mosaic, resin, Amarillo and Citra. Also got huge tropical whiffs - mixed berry, passion fruit and bitter mango rind - as well as some pine and Warrior (I think) hops. (Smell - 4.25) Tasted a tad better than the nose. Not entirely sure, but I think bitter Warrior hops was leading the way. Also Amarillo hops, Mosaic hops, Citra hops, tropical hops, bitter mango rind, faint Nugget hops, dank resin hops, mixed berry, passion fruit and maybe some floral hops. (Taste - 4.50) Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Bitter, abrupt finish. (Feel - 4.25) This beer basically seems like a double IPA, but it is somehow just an IPA. I may be overrating this just a bit, but very good and I can’t wait to have it again. (Overall - 4.50) 4.40 98 A

Bottle. Clear yellow pour with a white head. Mild citrus hop bouquet. Again minerally highlights. Average body and mouthfeel.
