COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black Moon Rising: Belgian-style black ales are a rare breed, but we love to celebrate obscurity. Black Moon Rising is brewed with a base of German pilsner malt for a light malt backbone and dose with just the right amount of Belgian and German specialty malts to give a gentle, yet defined roasty finish with flavors of light fruits in the middle. Brewed with our favorite Belgian yeast strain and German noble hops. Black Moon Rising is creatively refreshing.

Draft. Black beer with a tan head. Malt and yeast aroma. Malt and light toffee flavor with yeast and spice. Medium bodied. Malt and light toffee lingers with yeast, spice, and banana.

Very dark brown in color with a big tan head. Smells of pepper and roasted malt, but not much else. Maybe a bit of yeast and some other phenols. A little bit chocolatey, some pepper, a strong roast, and maybe a few dark fruit notes.

On draft at Beer Revolution. It pours brown with a brown head. The aroma is very toasted and earthy with very light Belgian yeast esters that come across as dark fruit. Some hints of cocoa as well. The flavor is the same. Ih has a nice toasty, mildly hoppy finish.

On tap. Pours with a near black body with a tan head that lasts. Aromas are grainy, peppery, phenol, mild roast, bready, a touch spicy. A bit of molasses as well. Flavors are dry, toasty, nutty, earthy, spicy, with mild esters. Pretty much seems like a malt forward saison (but black). Lively bubbles, quite dry. Clean and lightly spicy. Nice.
