COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hopheads rejoice! Citraholic is a "modern" West Coast IPA that’s focused on Citra, one of our favorite new American hop varieties. Brewed with an abundance of Citra hops, we also blend in Warrior, Columbus, and Simcoe in the kettle for good measure. Citraholic is double dry hopped for two weeks with an abundance of Citra (and a touch of Columbus) imparting heavy aromas of citrus & tropical fruits with melon and gooseberry nuances. A base of American 2-row malt and scatterings of light British caramel malt create the perfect foundation for this unique and powerfully pungent IPA. You asked for it and we were happy to deliver!

UPDATED: APR 24, 2015 I love my Citra, and buddy, you had me at dry hopped. Double dry hopped is only going to make me overheated and needy. I can’t wait... Cracking the beer is an explosion of fruit, earthy sourdough, and well, fruit. Add in some more fruit, and you’ve got the idea. A blend of bright citrus and berries creates a wonderful anticipation, and I feel a wash over my tongue...reactionary and welcome. The apricot-hued brew is light in color and the foam capping it is off-white, soft and moderately dense. I pull the first mouthful in over my lips and find the taste immediately biting my tongue; the tip, the sides, forcing it’s way to my throat but slipping past so quickly it barely leaves a trace of itself behind. The bitterness is bracing, making you stand at attention like you’ve been touched by a cold winter breeze after an hour in the jacuzzi, a clean shot of the aroma cutting through it and keeping a lid on the possibility of discomfort. The head is only a trace now; a thin layer of cloud that’s left some of itself as a wispy trail of wet lace on the glass. The medium body is slightly thick; the provocative flavor carried forward on a carbonation that isn’t entirely ambitious, but certainly isn’t holding back either. Bitter, a bit of a long finish, a stimulating aroma, and a damn tasty flavor would keep me coming back for this one...and if you know anything about me, you know that there’s always time for just one more. Right?

Bottle. Hazy golden orange pour with a small head that fades to a messy film and ring. Citra hop heavy aroma of dank and juicy tropical and citrus fruit. Pineapple, kiwi, grapefruit, oranges, melon, light pine, light flowers, and a dank coating over all of it. Taste has a pretty strong dank hop oil flavor that can be a tad harsh on some sips but still very good. Great tropical fruit and citrus punch. A touch of pine in the finish. Medium body. Mouthfeel is creamy but sorta oily and slick too. Great stuff.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/30/2015. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of huge grapefruit, tangerine, mango, peach, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Incredible aromas with awesome complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge grapefruit, tangerine, mango, peach, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, mango, peach, pineapple, lemon/orange zest, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately sticky, and slightly creamy mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an incredible IPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottle from a good friend. Bright murky, straw colored pour with a milky white foam. Spicy, lemony zest, bright citrus, and a touch of honey. Pretty assertive. Yum!

La côte ouest....la maudite côte ouest est dans chaque instant de cette performance. Les agrumes sucrées, juteuses et pulpeuses se perdent dans un liquide bien charpenté. La côte ouest à son meilleur.

Holy Citra, Batman! Clear amber pour with a nice white head and lacing. Massive Citra nose with a hint of maltiness. Big hoppy citrus goodness in the taste, slight bitterness in the finish balanced by a mild malt and fruity character. Quite yummy.
