COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hopheads rejoice! Citraholic is a "modern" West Coast IPA that’s focused on Citra, one of our favorite new American hop varieties. Brewed with an abundance of Citra hops, we also blend in Warrior, Columbus, and Simcoe in the kettle for good measure. Citraholic is double dry hopped for two weeks with an abundance of Citra (and a touch of Columbus) imparting heavy aromas of citrus & tropical fruits with melon and gooseberry nuances. A base of American 2-row malt and scatterings of light British caramel malt create the perfect foundation for this unique and powerfully pungent IPA. You asked for it and we were happy to deliver!

Pour is mostly clear amber in color with an off white head and some larger bubbles. Nose is heavy citra hop, light bready dough notes, a faint touch of sweet malt, and that musky melon and tropical fruit aroma of the citra. Taste is a bit more doughy, strong melon rind, some fruitier mango, very heavily bittered through the finish, less sweet than the nose. Light body, very clean feel, well carbonated.

Sample at the Long Beach brewpub. Pours a hazy dark yellow-orange color with a medium foamy white head that diminishes steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of grapefruit, hops and biscuit malt. Medium-bodied with a zesty citrus character and notes of toasted malt and pine. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering tropical fruit and hops aftertaste. Really good IPA all around.

Bottle thanks to Will. Pours a cloudy gold with small frothy white head that lastd. The aroma is a huge pine, citrus, hemp. Thin mouthfeel with strong hop bite, palate wrecking bitterness, citrus, lingering bittenes. Very good.

The beer pours a light yellow color with a medium head. The citrus explodes from the glass. Lemon, grapefruit come first then some pineapple and pine needles. Taste is more tropical fruit and then some hop bitterness. It has some carbonation on the finish with a crispness.

>> Pours a clear orange gold with exceptional rocky off-white head with insane retention and lacing. Nose is spot on tropical, crazy hop medley- definitely gooseberry, cantaloupe, honeydew, lime. Taste is excellent all around- big honey biscuit malt backbone with medium density, small sugar balance. Hop flavor is powerful and fruity, but the bitterness is medium. Astringent is zero, stickiness is zero, and the palate is juicy and rich- never dry or papery. Really an exceptional IPA. Wow.

Bottle... Hazy peach-colored pour with a small, creamy, white head. The restrained bouquet involves vanilla and even more subtle notes of citra hop fruitiness and muskiness. Full-bodied and lightly creamy with stinging carbonation. The flavor provides loads of citrusy, rindy, pithy bitterness. Lengthy, bitter finish. Thanks to newcigarz for supplying the bottle!

Very good. Had this with surf & turf. The Citra hop cut through the sauces and held strong. Touch syrupy, but the hop profile limits that sensation.

22oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a white head. Amazing hop aroma. Citrus, pine, dank hops. Strong bitterness. Tasty IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle I think from Brokensail. Poured into snifter. HO LEE HELL amazeballs nose of citrus, lime, lemon, berry, zest. Pours a fairly clear dark yellow with medium sized white head. Taste is initially very bitter with a moderate amount of residual sweetness as well. Definitely some alcohol warming in the chest and ears, which surprises me for a 7% beer. carbonation seems a bit low as well. Hops seem to be all bitterness (other than the nose) and not enough in the flavor. I’d prefer this to be a bit more dry and more carbonated as well. Kind of let down after the aroma, but its still a solid IPA. I just wish it tasted like it smelled.
