COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
El Verano is a traditional Belgian-style saison that begins with a base of German pilsner malt and a generous portion of malted rye. Malted spelt and flaked wheat adds a pleasant earthiness while softening the mouthfeel. We’ve incorporated local sage honey to accentuate the floral German hops used in the kettle. Fermented with our favorite Belgian yeast, El Verano has aromas of fresh fruits and delicate spices with a refreshingly dry finish and lively carbonation.

I had this on tap at Beachwood BBQ in Long Beach, CA. This clear yellow pour had some moderate fruitiness/floralness on the nose with a dry finish. It paired nicely with the bbq.

Mostly clear yellow pour, white head. Spicy aroma, some very light hop notes, citrus, crackery notes, not heavy on the funk or farmhouse notes, but crisp and clean. Flavors are perfectly suited for a lot of the food here, crisp, lightly dry, not overly funk. Really clean and enjoyable.

Appearance: Pours a white gold with white edges.

Aroma: Husky and spicy yeast. Fruit bouquet.

Taste: Spicy fruity yeast. Finishes fairly dry.

Mouthfeel. Medium bodied with lively bubbles.

Overall: I enjoy Beachwoods IPAs more than this offering.

A: The beer pours a surprisingly clear golden color with a big white head. S: A very floral aroma to this, a strong honey character overall. A bit of perfume, too. Lots of bready malt with a solid yeast character. A very little spice/phenol character, which I find enjoyable. T: There is more spice to the flavor, almost like nutmeg. Sweet bread and cracker malts, maybe a bit of biscuit. Some floral hops and perfume with very light bitterness. Yeast and a little bit of honey flavor. M: Light to medium in body with a medium carbonation. O: A nice easy drinking Saison. Would prefer a bit more funk/farmhouse to it, but very clean and well done.

Commercial version, on tap at BAM Fest. Pours with a clear golden body with a thick, lasting white head. Aromas are a bit pungent, rainy, citrus, orange peel, lots of esters. Crisp, grassy and lightly spicy. Very floral. Flavors are light, crisp, grassy, grainy, light ester notes reminiscent of citrus. Spicy, estery. Very dry and nicely put together.
