From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark brown to deep amber with a small tan head. Aroma is toasted malty and overripe fruity. Bitter, toasted and caramelish. Bitter and dry finish.

Pours a clear amber color with a finger of off-white head. Sweet and malty, rather substantial. Not terribly complex, but a nice nose. There is a bit of dark fruit character to it, maybe a hint of peat. The flavor is similarly simple, but enjoyable regardless. A solid flavor of caramel and toffee with a hint of earthy hops and peat. Sweet dark fruit notes are also there. Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation.

Poured a hazy reddish amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of toffee, carmel, fruittiness and wood. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of toffee, carmel, fruittiness and light wood with a smoothy lingeing fruity malty finish.

Tap. Pours clear dark brown with a medium, creamy light tan head, medium retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is cookie and caramel malt with dates and plums with light earthy hops and a light peat character. Flavor is malt dominant with dark fruity esters, light hops and bitterness, light smoke/peat and a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

A deep caramel colored pour, off white head. Aroma has a hint of peat but is dominated by way too much malt. I felt like I was eating some spent grain when I drank this. Overpowering in my opinion.

Tap at Beachwood Long Beach. Poured clear, deep maroon/brown with low carbonation and weak head formation. Nose is cherry juice box. Taste is dry, salty, malt heavy. Small oatmeal and brown sugar. Decent enough. Richer, dense palate.
