In the glass it has a copper color with a small head. The nose has some sweetness along with some maltiness. Taste has some caramel, raisins and some mild bitterness on the finish. Nice lacing with a medium finish.

[2/19/15] Draught at Beachwood BBQ in Long Beach. Clear amber. Aroma of malt, caramel and butter. Sweet flavor, malty, with caramel, nice mild smokiness and a nutty note. Medium-bodied. Decent.

Sample at the Long Beach brewpub. Pours a copper-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, malt and fruit. Light to medium body with flavors of mildly smoky malt, toffee and earthy hops. The finish is peaty malt and caramel. Decent overall.

Bright bronze color with ivory head. Earthy smoked malt, toasted caramel aromas. Smooth mouthfeel. Grainy, toasted caramel flavors are thankfully not too sweet, with a taste of earthy smokey peat---smooth finish--__not bad.

Scottish Ale - whatever the fuck that is .. wooo hooo, always the last choice on the tasting flight (or one of them that maybe ties with the wheat shite) and where’s my fucking thistle ?!?!?!? I could leave it there but alas I feel compelled to rate..... Lightly hazed golden amber with a moderate light beige covering that dissipates to edgework. Nose is sweet toffee, biscuit, light smoke, vanilla, spice. Taste comprises much the same, toffee, light spice, biscuit base, caramel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok ... not so bad for this fabrication of a style,,, hurrah the Scoooootish but where was me Thessle?

Backlog from the first batch (I think the most recent batch might be better). Pours with a clear copper hued body with a tan head that lasts. Aromas are of mildly fruity esters, malty, nutty and a touch earthy/musty. Very light smoke. Flavors are hugely malty, toasty, nutty, leather, light melanoidins, medium-low bitter, very dry finish despite the malt. Fuller carbonation.

Tap at Beachwood Long Beach. Clear, tea red pour. Wispy lacing. Sweeter cherry juice box nose. Taste is stickier, but not cloying, sweet red cherry, red apple skin tannic. Not my style.
