COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Awk biff whap zamm!" Youíve just been dealt a massive hit of hops in our newest "West Coast" IPA, Hop Jitsu. Layers of Warrior, Simcoe, Amarillo, and Citra skillfully mow their way through a base of American 2-row malt. A kiss of Canadian honey malt accentuates the tropical and tangerine flavors & aromas from the large Amarillo/Citra dry hop charge.

I had this on tap at the brewpub in Long Beach, CA. This clear golden pour has a nice hoppy flavor with citrus notes and just the right amount of malt in the background.

>> Clear bright golden, great webby lacing. Nose is pithy mango, soft nectar fruit. Taste is clean, dry, biscuit, tangerine rind and juice. Really good, sessionable IPA that isnít thin or sticky. Chuggable.

SF Beer Week 2014, City Beer Store. Pours a bright medium gold. The liquid is clear. Big sticky white head that lasts for quite awhile. Itís all hop with a whole bunch of different flavors knocking around. There are berries, grass, grapes, a big herbal note and peppercorn. The herbal note gives the beer a fairly unusual tone, compared to many IPAs. The taste is rather dry with medium to strong bitterness for the strength of the beer. Solid hop flavor throughout with more emphasis on that herbal, spicy note. The mouthfeel is quite light, almost overly so, with some good hop oiliness. Overall, itís a very good beer, which shouldnít be terribly surprising for an IPA from Beachwood BBQ, but almost a touch harsh, and I canít say that I loved the hop flavor, though it was interesting.

Draught at City Beer in San Francisco.
Orange in appearance with minimal head. Super bitter. Really grapefruit-like and one dimensional. 2014-02-09

On tap at City Beer in February 2014. Clear orange with a small white head. Hoppy with tropical fruit, hay, cookies and some caramel. The finish was dry and quite bitter. Good work.

Holy citrus, Batman! Golden yellow pour with a huge white head. Super citrus taste. Really bright and floral. Excellent IPA bursting with lime grapefruit and lemon.

On tap at the Brewpub. Pours with a crystal clear golden hue with a giant and lasting white head with good lace. Aromas are of tropical fruit, mango, papaya, tangelo, light alcohol. Dry, floral, grassy, juicy fruit. Awesome aroma! Flavors show some perceived sweet fruit hop character, grassy, medium to low bitterness. Tropical fruit, citrus zest, clean and crisp. One of (if not) the best IPAís that Julian has made (and he makes very impressive IPAs).

Good if you like hops and citrus and not malt, like me. Flavor is fresh hoppy all the way, even 10min after the last sip!

Clear pale orange colored pour with a white head. Nice peach and mango hop notes, a bit of pineapple, and an incredibly citric grapefruit character. A mild malt sweetness to it, too. Incredible fruit flavors. Melon, grapefruit, peach, and mango. A light hop bitterness and some sweet bready malt. Very nice.
