Ka pow! Hop Ninja is an in-your-face West Coast double IPA. Hop flavors slice their way through a base of American 2-row malt kissed by caramel malt. Quadruple dry hopping with Simcoe, Amarillo, and Columbus creates an aroma that skillfully takes your olfactory senses hostage. A dry finish masks the sneak attack of 8.9% ABV.

Clear amber color with ivory head. Skunky, skanky pussy, cat spray danky hop aromas. Medium body with average co2. Nice dank wet grass, cat spray, spicy flavors on a solid pale malt base--tasty good

On tap at Stone, great dark orange. Citrus aroma, grapefruit and pine as well. The aroma is almost a hoppy sweetness. Thick mouthfeel. Backend is all strong hops. Front is a lot of malt. Very good.

Light orange pour. Whitish head. Julian strikes again! Grapefruit peel, tropical fruit, caramel sweetness in the nose. Flavor is an insane blend of citrus hops, resin, caramel and light bready notes. YES!

At FWIBF, a well hopped Double IPA with a plethora of citrus, resin, grassy, etc. Taste follows suit with only a little malt on the back. Very good DIPA.

Draft. Clear golden orange color with a one finger white head. Citrusy as all hell on the aroma with some herbal notes. The flavor has sweet malt with orange, grapefruit, and herbal flavors. Medium-bodied and well carbonation. Excellent DIPA.

I had this on tap at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach, CA. This dark golden pour has a nice hop flavor with a well balanced finish.

A: The beer pours a golden orange color with a finger of white head. S: An intense hop aroma to this one. Lots of citrus hops and perhaps even more pine. A strong herbal hop aroma, too, with lots of grapefruit peel. Just a touch of grass, a little bit of malt on the back end. T: Intense resinous and oily pine flavors. Decently bitter without being overly so. Citrus peel and grapefruit hop flavors and a light herbal note. Slight malt sweetness in there somewhere. M: Medium bodied with a medium carbonation. O: Another solid hoppy beer from Julian/Beachwood. Good stuff.

A really competent Double IPA. I read somewhere that Avery Dugana is supposed to be a clone of Pliny the Elder... but the Ninja is the true heir to that throne. Nose is big with orange, rind and resin. The flavor profile is more dry than fruity, but there is some citrus underneath all that oily hop leaf. Thanks to Shyam for the growler.

On tap at BAM Fest. Pours with a lightly hazed orange hued body with a small white head. Aromas are extremely dank, fruity, citrusy, orange and a bit grassy. Minimal malt character. Flavors are very fruity, dank, citrus, grassy. Fresh and awesome. Grapefruit and light tropical fruit edges. Very nicely bitter balance without being overbearing in the slightest. Lively bubbles, dry, with a very light caramel character. Really good!
