3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at Beachwood. Aroma is bread to an extreme. Pours a light and clear orange with big white head. Taste is more bread, slight lemon ester, Euro hop character and some other odd spice. Nice beer for a style I’m not excited about.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Glad to finally see the commercial version on tap. Multiple glasses and growlers in the last week. Pours with a mostly clear, yellow hue (less hazy than the zwick), with a white head that doesn’t last as long as the zwick. Aromas are bready, toasty, fruity, floral, light yeast roundness but otherwise clean. Great herbal hop aroma. Flavors are floral, hoppy, noble, herbal saaz. Less bitter bite than I felt on the Zwick, even though they are the same (maybe some yeast contribution or hop matter still in suspension?). Clean with a lovely bready malt profile. Dry, crisp, highly carbonated with a medium bitter balance overall. Great California Pils, different, but close in quality to fresh FW Pivo.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2013 Clear golden pour with a white head. Really nice clean nose. Bread, biscuit, and cracker maltiness. Sweet apples, floral hops, a hint of grass, and some yeast. Good bread flavor, biscuit, and crackers. Mild fruit esters, light bitterness, and a bit of yeast on the finish. Floral hops and a hint of grass.
