COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-blown “West Coast” IPA chocked full of sticky hop resins. Melrose is brewed with American 2-row malt and a touch of Canadian “honey” malt to accentuate the tropical and citrusy flavors of the Simcoe and Amarillo hops. This beer is generously dry hopped for an over-the-top aromatic experience.

Nice nose of citrus, grapefuit, some tropical notes, light dank. Malt base is just a touch noticeable, a little sweet. Bright golden pour, wonderful soft head, great clarity. Fruity throughout, grapefruit and tropical fruit, dank, nice and hoppy. Super drinkable. Clean nice IPA.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this growler. The beer pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma is unmistakably that of a West Coast IPA. I get a ton of citrus and tropical fruit notes - peaches, pineapples and oranges. I also get a little bit of bread, but the aroma is basically all about the hops. The flavor is more of the same. There are tons of pineapple,. peach and apricot notes making up the flavor. The bread and biscuit malt is also present and the bitterness is pretty low, even though the hop flavor is so high. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very, very good and glad I got to try it.

On tap at Brouwer’s for Hopfest, pours cloudy copper with fine all white lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, tropical fruits, caramel. Flavour is very much the same - dry, citrusy hop dominance. Good.

I had a growler sent to me and some leaked out and it had no carbonation at all. I could still tell this was a great IPA before it went flat, the beer looked nice just a shame I really want to taste this fresh now, road trip!!

At the same share as markwise, poured from a growler. Poured a nice light orange color, with the fading aroma of pine, tropical fruit, and hops. Not to thick of a beer, had a nice grassy, lemon, citrus, and pine flavors. Not too big of a bitter aftertaste either.

On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe for Hopfest, pours orange with a small white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, citrus hops and caramel. Flavour is quite tropical fruit heavy, with lots of citrusy hops. Delicious.

On tap at Brouwer’s Hopfest 2011. This was the highlight of the festival for me. Pours a light transparent orange, with a huge, foamy, off-white head. Skunky pine resin and tropical fruits on the nose. Nice and light, but with a powerful hop punch. Not at all thick or syrupy, but screw the balance with this one -- it’s bitter as hell. Grassy, herbal flavor increases in your mouth, leaving you with a delighted bitter beer face. Countered by a prominent guava note. Way too easy to drink.

Growler courtesy bu11zeye and bman1113vr. Pours a very clear light orange color with amber highlights. Ring of white head forms on top. Aroma is very hoppy. Spicy, hop sap, resin, pine needles and grapefruit fill the nose. Flavor is highly bitter and very dry. Lots of hops in the flavor. Dry hops, leaves, earth and pine. Super bitter and dry finish. Pretty good but man it’s dry.
