COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mocha Machine is a well-engineered endeavor in massive aromatics and rich flavors. Brewed with an array British and German malts, this burly brew is infused with masterfully roasted coffee from Portola Coffee Lab in Costa Mesa, CA. It is then aged on cacao nibs from Equador, adding an awesomely deep dimension of fudge.

Keg at Beachwood, Long Beach, 17/04/14. Extremely dark mahogany brown/light black with a moderate tan covering that retains as a large lake and edgeing. Nose carries a big mocha blast, roasted malt, chocolate. Taste comprises coffee cake icing, sweet licks, cocoa powder, vanilla essence, roast malt, coffee bean. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid coffee fuelled porter.

Tap at Beachwood LB, super strong coffee nose, no surprise there, I don’t find the fudge or cacao nibs because of the abundance of coffee, almost a gritty like texture which is surprising, still a fantastic brew.

Enjoyed on tap as part of a sampler at Beachwood BBQ in Long Beach, CA. This was my favorite out of the sampler. Intense aromatic coffee and mocha notes with a dry light bitter finish. Definite rich chocolate fudge notes in the flavor. Great stuff.

Pours very dark with a tan head. Aroma of coffee and cocoa beans. The taste has dark roasted malts with coffee and some caramel. Good beer.

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish black pour with thin tan head, aroma brought notes of big roast, coffee, green espresso bean, hints of caramel, toffee, slight dark fruits, nice notes of dark chocolate. Taste is a mix of dark cocoa, coffee, espresso notes, hints of green bean, slight earth, grain, dark fruits, finishing fairly bitter, coffee forward.

4 Oct 2013, growler. Black. Nose is cocoa ad coffee. Big and black. Not bitter. Thin body and moderately fizzy. Almost a spicy coffee stout. Oily, biter chocolate finish. Awesome!

Tap at Beachwood Long Beach. Clear cola highlights on a darker black pour. Healthy mocha foam. Big coffee nose, no green coffee fortunately. Yeah pretty much all coffee. Taste, all coffee. Mild pepper heat. Fresh, not gritty. Silky palate. Solid cup of coffee.

Growler shared at Dark Lord Day 2013 (Munster, IN). Purs a rich deep blackish pour, dark and near opaque, blackish with frothy brownish head that dies to a film, laces ok. Aromas are rich cocoa, fudge, and coffee. Good coffee beans, roast, and fudge. Initial is rich and big, coffee and cocoa, roast and caramel, black malts. Gentle vanilla. Middle is caramel, toffee, and cocoa. Roasty, with toast, vanilla and cocoa. Toffee, toast, and toast into the backend. Big fudgy elements, big coffee roast, fudge and mocha. Nice beer, a touch thin in body but some richer flavors make this a memorable one.
