3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a deep roasted black color with a finger of khaki foam. The nose has some smoked campfire to it and mingles nicely with the roasted chocolate and heavy grain profile. The palate follows the nose with nice balance between smoked flavors and round soft chocolate roast but its a bit thin on the tail end and the flavors just fall flat. Not a bad beer just a bit underwhelming in all aspects. Not much complexity.

Bomber from Nick, thanks. Pours a jet black color with a medium white head. A smooth mostly chocolates, some smoke nose. The flavor is a pretty big roast, smoke, oats, light dark fruit, some metallic bitter dark chocolate that reminds me of Guinness Special Export, more smoky sweet goodness in the finish. Sweet brown sugar beef jerky. Very nice. A good palate.

500th Imperial Stout tick. Fitting it is with a stellar beer such as this. Yes!
22oz bottle courtesy of GT2. It pours with a deep dark mahogany colored body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up pure yumminess with dark roasted malts, some toffee, a thicket of malts and chocolate as well as silky smooth and light bacony smokiness. All this is very well balanced and integrated, intoxicating aroma. The taste does not disappoint as it delivers malt and chocolate brownie sweetened dark roasted maltiness, a sliver of a toffee sort of note that is pure yum and then smooth bacon smokiness that is at just the right level to create flavor harmony. Wow! Well executed.

22 oz. bomber. It pours a very dark brown/black color with a thin tan head of foam. The aroma is toasted bread, cocoa powder, light campfire smoke and coffee. Nice. The flavor has a good level of smoke with burnt wood, toast, espresso, a little smores and intense dark bakers chocolate. Very creamy body. Sufficiently dry and bitter/roasted in the finish. Delicious beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of brown foam. Aromas of smoke, ink, roastiness, coffee and dark chocolate. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roastiness, smoke, bakers cocoa, light wood and light espresso with a smooth lingering smokey finish.

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark black pour with thin tan head, aroma brought notes of thick chocolate, oats, slight smoky tones, coffee, sweet sugary brownie notes in there, hints of dark fruits as well. Taste is a mix of dark chocolate, sweet creamy milk chocolate, hints of oat, roast, and slight coffee, finishing with more caramel, toffee and sweet brownie, slightly smoky.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Caramel aroma; inky black with tan frothy head; strong smoky flavor with alcohol tang; fizzy carbonation with astringent finish; overall, a great example of a smoked stout, but with the high price and disappointing aroma falls short of a regular purchase

Damn Julian can brew a badass stout. Deep brown color with a chocolate milk colored head. Smoke, brownies, coffee, roasted malt. Creamy and delicious.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar: Poured a dark brown liquid that was completely opaque and had a thin yet firm layer of film head. Aroma is big and bold with robust scents of smoked wood and smells better than imported rauchbiers from Europe. Also has a nose of roasted black malts that reminds me of a creamy coffee additive. The beer drinks rich and smooth with a roasted malt profile that has been perfectly smoked and remind me again how good Beachwood beers are. Really could have fooled me for an Imperial rauch and not an impy stout.

Nice stout. Very subtle smokiness which I liked. Good flavor without all the overbearing chocolate or coffee flavors some stouts have.
