Sampled at GABF 2012. Pours an oily, opaque black with some thin, beige head. Nose is malty, nutty, coffee, burnt caramel. Flavor is sweet, malty, sugary, molasses, nuts. Full bodied, sticky finish.

Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. The beer pours black with a medium beige head and patches of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Full-bodied with flavors of black coffee, licorice and sweet malt. The finish is roasty with a lingering mocha aftertaste. Very good stout, and my favorite beer of the day.

Drank in Denver for GABF 2012. One of the more interesting beer. Pours a pure black color with a small white head. A huge nose of brandy and coffee. The flavor is super sweet brandy, figs, tobacco, coffee, spices. Very good and harmonious.

Dark black pour, brown head. Aroma is so full of coffe, licorice, spice, bitter dark chocolate, cane syrup. Flavor follows with rich and roasty spice, coffee, chocolate, prunes, licorice. Hella good.

Tap at Beachwood Long Beach. Opaque, inky pour. Medium mocha foam. Webby, thicker lacing. Nose is all coffee- acidic lemon, caramel, roast. Taste is more coffee with salted caramel, bitter chocolate. Still a bit green feeling, but the coffee character is very intense. Palate is silky, rich, salty, buoyant. Very nice.

From tap at Bruery Provisions. Pours hazy dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate and coffee herbal. Smooth toffee, dark malty and smooth coffee. Bitter and light sweet, dark roasted malty. Bitter and dry finish.

Poured on tap at the Beachwood BBQ 1st Anniversary bash. It is almost black in the glass with a medium head. It also had good lacing. in the glass the is a sweetness like molasses with some vanilla. Slight nose of alcohol. Taste is big with coffee, vanilla and black licorice. The oak chips give the beer depth and uniqueness. Great beer.
