COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"System of a Stout" is an imperial stout infused with all the traditional ingredients of a savory cup of Armenian coffee: cardamom, molasses, coffee (of course), and brandy. In the kettle, the beer is lightly dosed with green cardamom for exotic spice notes. Molasses adds a richness that seamlessly blends in. The finished beer was then aged for several days masterfully roasted coffee from Portola Coffee Lab in Costa Mesa. The beer was then aged for several weeks on Armenian brandy-soaked oak chips for yet another dimension of flavors and aromas. Take your time and enjoy this endlessly complex and nuanced beer.

Batch 1 & 2. Black pour with tan head. Batch 2 is entirely coffee, roasted and all. Batch 1 has coffee, roasted and light bell pepper aromas. Light roasted, chocolate and coffee flavors. Flavors are more coffee forward on batch 2, batch two definitely better.

22 oz. bottle sampled at RBSG, the grand tasting. Pours a deep brown with a dark tan head. Notes of cardamom, coffee, molasses, vanilla, chocolate, earth, tobacco, roasted malts - the coffee and spices almost give a bit of cinnamon to it. Medium-full bodied, with moderate carbonation and a rich palate. Really nice coffee imperial stout.

Bottle via trade. Nose is a ton of coffee with a tobacco and ashy thing too. Taste is slightly tangy and boozy and then shows off some chocolate and then changed to an alcohol warming.
