Huge thanks to bman1113vr for sharing this bottle at the pre Big Texas Beer Fest tasting. Black pour with a tan head. The aroma is full of rich espresso notes with some chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is more of the same. I get a ton of espresso and bitter chocolate notes. I also get some alcohol. The beer is very dry. Medium carbonation and thick mouthfeel. Very, very nice.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 SDalkoholic (1768) - Chula Vista, California, USA - FEB 28, 2013
On tap @ Toronado: Poured a dark jet black while a thin formation of head quickly flat lined leaving the liquid completely naked. In the nose, a sweet aroma of bottled Starbucks mocha coffee with a background of roasted malts. The drink is smooth with a rich and robust taste of roasted malts and roast ground coffee that has a mean bite of bitterness yet still seems to be favorably balanced.

22oz, red waxed bottle via trade. pours a deep, dark brown and sits like the blackest coffee in the glass capped by a dark mocha head with a hint of rust around the edges. aroma is amazing, perhaps the most coffee forward beer i’ve had in a while, with huge notes of freshly ground beans, strong espresso, massive roast, smoke, and hints of vanilla backed by subtly notes of cinnamon, brown sugar, oatmeal, cocoa powder, and cedar. flavor is simply superb with immense notes of roasted espresso, mocha latte, belgian chocolate, and hazelnut creamer backed by smooth vanilla, molasses, figs, and a hint of spice on the back end. palate is smooth as silk, truly like drinking an iced espresso, with light carbonation and a lingering finish of roast coffee and chocolate. overall, this is a truly fantastic imperial stout for the coffee lover.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 toxichop (163) - South Gate, California, USA - DEC 24, 2012
P: Black with a thin brown head. S: toasted almonds, dark fruits, hints of molasses, coffee, and roasted malt. T: Just straigh out coffee, hint of vanilla cream, dark fruits, molasses, and caramel. M: Full body, silky with a roasty finish. O: This is a very well made brew. A very well balance with the roasty coffee and sweetness, the ABV is completely hidden and the coffee bitterness which is a complete turn off on this style of brews is in a incredible low level.
