On tap. Roasted and maltaromas. Pours black, with a nice tan head, long-lasting, creamy, some lacework. Medium body and low carbonation. Taste is malty, coffee, chocolate and some roasty. Nice dry finish

The notes are from Nov 2006: although I have since been to its homeland and drank it in Cork pubs, my original words still run true. Drank in the British Legion Club, Dawley.
Cold and dark, very dark and too cold for me, but once it warmed up a bit, no problems with aroma and taste. Looks like a stout should, with a fine off white thick head, which stays until the last drop of beer has gone.
Chocolate and burnt caramel fill your nose, the taste adds to your overall sense of burntness.
The burnt flavour does stay in the mouth for a while, but doesn’t seem to get into the throat, it just stays in the mouth!
Pleasant enough, better than the most popular Irish stout in my opinion.

Canned. Pours black with a foamy tan head. Aromas of coffee roasted malt and toast. Smooth slick tongue feel. Slight sweetness. A little bitter. Finishes the same

8 oz glass at Tigh Neachtain pub in Dublin. At one time Beamish exceeded Guinness in stout production, Now it is owned by Murphy’s and brewed in Cork. The stout poured a dark brown with a creamy head. The stout had more charcoal flavor than other stouts. The head was more tan than white. Smooth finish with average carbonation.

One of my all time most sentimental Stouts. Its smooth and creamy yet light on the tongue from the nitro push. A solid stout to cut ones teeth on and then enjoy often.

Dark brown, with a big creamy light tan head from the nitrogen ball. Chocolate aroma. Sweet dark taste.

Delicious. Almost a dessert, and drier than a desert. Sweet, dark, and creamy. Tried from a nitro can at Dempsey’s in Lawrence. (4/3/2008)
