tiggmtl (4157), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Mar 26, 2008 2002 Vintage sampled Feb-08: Plenty of sherry-like oxidation over a thick, chewy malt profile in both the flavour and nose. Opaque amber-brown coloured body is topped by a low but lasting off white head. Medium full body with strong alcohol warming. Certainly showing its age but still very enjoyable. Bottle sampled at Oakes cellar raid 2007.
microakes (81), Canada Feb 24, 2008 2002 Vintage. A malt heavy aroma hit me first, with no hint of the hops that fill this one. Balanced, thankfully by some malt in there, and finishes with a nice caramel. kp (6000), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 01/10/2004

willblake (1919), Long Branch, New Jersey, USA May 29, 2007 20061111 Sampled at Cornboy’s 1st Annual Barley Wine Extravaganza #3 Funky, cherries, horesblanket, distant bleu cheese make for a great aroma. This is clearly off, but so appealing. Flavor of milk carton, bandaid, but still enough oomph to be worthwhile drinking. Ibrew2or3 (1613), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Dec 3, 2006 12/02/06 Walk the Line Barleywine Festival, Dunedin, FL. 2002 vintage. Poured a clear amber color with thin tan head. The aroma seemed to contain a nuttiness plus caramel and oak. It had a thin body and smooth light flavor of caramel malts and pine hop bitterness.
