Poured a brown with reddish tint to the edges, the head was frothy and beige. Aroma was nice cascade hops and subtle malts. Nice blend of malts, hints of chocolate and fresh hops that linger through the finish.

A bit pricey for what you get, but a typical strong ale here that I had to go to CO to get.

Changing aroma and dark brown appearance with a complex taste of maple and spice with a lingering mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2013.03.05 - Bear Republic / Fat Headís / Stone TBA - 12oz bottle in pint glass. Vintage 2012. Aroma: ver nice, hops tempered by something... a bit spicy a bit malty. Appearance: Pours around 19-20 on SRM scale. Deep caramel brown. Ridiculous head, almost half the glass. Sticky and foamy head/carbonation. Taste: Hops clearly there but very well balanced with sweet spiciness. Caramel taste and molasses. Not as roasty or chocolatey as most American Brown Ales. Not as hoppy as, say, Brekles Brown. Nice. Palate/Mouthfeel: medium Aroma 7/10, Appearance 4/5, Taste 8/10, Palate 3/5, Overall 15/20

Bottle. Pours a cloudy dark brown with a huge tan head on it. Hoppy nose with a hint of harshness in there. Malty taste with some good bitterness in there. Not bad.

12oz (STONE) bottle. Vintage 2012. Bottled 02/12. Pours light brown color, light khaki colored fizz. Aroma of brown sugary malts. Toasted oat cereal scent. Light chocolate and even some earth in the nose. Dry flavor. Some toasted malts along with some earthy hops. Tastes of the woods. Smells better than the dry flavor of the medium bodied beer. Its a tick... (3618)

Bottle from Buckeye Beer Engine. Murky brownish pour with a larger foamy head. Sweet hops dominate the aroma. Taste is hops with a hint of dark fruit. Moderate palate.

Bottle pour a murky brown. Nose of some hop, caramel, and toffee. Initial candy sweet followed by a vague vegetal, then strong bitterness. Not blending well to by palate.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle, itís a deep, cloudy orange color. A nice 1 inch tan, creamy head forms. Aroma is distinctly hops, caramel and citrus. Moderate lacing, but not as sticky as I would have suspected. Medium body and medium-soft carbonation. Nice, but not memorable. That said, Iíd welcome another glass any time.

Bottle. Hazy dark brown liquid with small light tan head. Aroma of raw sugar, pine, spices, biscuit, toffee, dark fruit and bread. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter with notes of raw sugar, pine, biscuit and toffee. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice, though a bit boring.
