3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour from a bottle gave a light brown murky color. A little bit of sweet malt and brown sugar on the nose. Medium body beer. Flavor of toasted sweet malt that is quickly over powered by the bitter hops. The one dimensional hop flavor lasts to the finish in a dry fashion. Not much flavor retention. Pretty routine.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This poured a murky medium brown color with a biege head. Aroma was roasted nuts, medium citrus hps, some lighlty roasted malts and dark fruits. Flavor was fruity hops, medium bitterness both from hops, and roast, some caramel and nuttiness too. A really nice example of a brown ale

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz from Bev 4 Less. Pours a cloudy hue between root beer and homemade cider. Little bit of white foam on top. Aroma is strong of brown sugar, molasses, and something like apples. Taste is nice and malty, with a strong hop presence. The sweetness of the nose is gone in the palate here, at least until the very end. This is a wildly complex beer for being a super-brown... interesting and subtle. Hops, then bitter, then sweet, then supersweet... Thatís the palate progression and, I have to say, itís pretty damn amazing. Good stuff. Love these collaboration beers.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle @ home. Hazy, reddish brown appearance with a big, light brown head. Rich caramelized sugary, molasses, brown sugar, fairly piney/resiny hoppy aroma. Pretty big brown sugary, molasses, a little goopy, piney, earthy hoppy flavor. Hmmm, this one is a bit all over the place with a rich, syrupy, caramelized sugar element and then the resiny, piney hoppy element. Bleh.

11 mar 2012, bottle. Light amber, clear, lots of steady bubbles. Nose is just aggressive grapefruit hops and some nut brown malt. Med creamy body and mildly fizzy. Nit brown and spruce hops. Pretty nice.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy reddish brown with a solid one-finger head, great retention and very nice lace. Sweetish brown sugar aromas with plenty of citrus and something like the smell you get when you cut the lawn early in the morning when itís still wet and the clumps of grass clog the chute and you have to stick your hand in there to clear it out. But I digress. Floral and grassy hops come forward in the flavor profile, offset by a strong caramel malt and a slight alcohol burn, and now it seems more like an American Strong Ale. Brown sugar, roasted nuts and smoky wood add to the complexity. Medium body, strong carbonation, sticky mouthfeel and a crisp finish. Very interesting, and very good effort by the collaborators.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from BevMo. Strongly hopped nose with a bit of roasted maltiness. Strong hops are subdued by a little bit of sweetness coming through from the malts. Pretty good balance of hops and brown ale.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
nice big head, good lacing, citrus, grapefruit, deep chocolate, slightly sweet - really balance, not sure I would call it an american strong, but then I canít offer another style. Solid beer

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear reddish amber hue, modest head formation. Big citrus, piney hop aroma, mild caramel. Hops are spicy on the palate with a strong grapefruit citrus in the finish. Malt is light but adds a touch of sweetness and dry nuttiness. This is a nice citrusy, hoppy brown ale, one I could drink on a regular basis.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
From bottle. Brown pour with tan bubbly head. Aroma is piney and sweet with molasses. Taste is piney with a touch of citrus with almost a nutty finish. Alcohol is pretty well hidden. Definitely a stone inspired brew. Damn good brown ale.
