Webster’s Dictionary defines apex as the highest point, the tip or climax. This experimental IPA allows our brewing staff to play and search for that ever elusive new hop blend and balance. Our brewers are eternally searching for the perfect Apex.

Tap at Fiddlers.

Nice dry beer on the IPA / IIPA border. Not a beer to leap out and blow you away, it’s nevertheless so beautifully balanced that the whole is quite an artful creation. I agree with the previous reviewer, a hop profile that is more resinous than fruity or even leafy, fairly backgrounded malts that avoid the sweet sticky IIPA trap to which so many Californian IIPAs succumb. I’ve wanted to try this one for years and it not disappoint. Good stuff!

On tap..Slightly hazy deep golden pour , small white head . Excellent lacing . Aroma of citrus , peach and pine . Flavor is sweet malt with a decent hop bitterness and excellent citrus hop notes . Some toasted notes as well . Medium in body and carbonation . Finish is dry and resinous . Excellent .

This beer’s hops was balanced soo well that the high alcohol was not felt. This was soo easy drinking and enjoyable that i am thoroughly impressed. Another winner by Bear Republic!!!!

Amber tinted, but mostly golden. Good, white head. Hoppy, gummy, resinous aroma. Dense white lacing. Dark, berry fruit taste, blueberry, currant, along with the hops. Pretty sweet. Light syrup texture. Mild burn on the finish.

Another fantastic IPA from the west coast! Not to diss our folks from the east, though! This delicious beer starts off with an inviting pour with notes in the aroma of pine, grapefruit, oranges and of course hops. The flavors are bitter, spicy, dry and balanced very nicely with just the right amount of earthy malts.

Growler from Grapevine. Good DIPA, though not exactly what I expected from the west coast. Pretty well balanced and not totally loaded with hop aroma and flavor, and nicely bitter. Good beer, Nick and I had no trouble finishing that growler off.

getting some orange and mango flavors. a really nice sharp hop bite that fades agreeably. i would consider this more of a regular IPA because the alcohol doesn’t bowl you over. this is very lively

On tap at Sunset Grill in Allston, MA. Pours clear orange with a couple fingers of off-white head. Aroma and flavor exhibit nice lemony citrus notes with some slight sweet light fruit flavors, although neither really exhibits any trait that would justify the name, "Apex." Still, the beer is absolutely solid and worth a try.

Orange in color, with nice lacing and a frothy, resilient head. Aroma is grapefruit, lemony, but also backed with firm sweet orange and apricot. Palate is creamy – a distinctive trait of this DIPA – positively resiny with a smooth body. Flavor bursts with a balanced attack of apricot, sweet ruby grapefruit, and a touch of flowers. Middle is supported and complemented by a touch of sweet malts, though never showing strong caramel or toffee. Finish is bitter, slightly papery, solid. Quite tasty, but some awkward notes (especially in the finish) put Apex a notch below West Coast favorites.

On tap on Paradiso. Pours a clear orange with a two finger tan head. Excellent retention and lacing. Very nice beta acid hoppy nose with floral hops, mango peel, grapefruit rind. Taste has some distinct booziness with pineapple rum and light mango. Not outstanding. Very boozy even though it is only 7.5%.
