Bottle to Glass. Pours a clear orange with light foam head. Aroma is very piney hops, faint hints of tropical fruit. Smells delicious. Taste is again strong pine hops, pine resin, grass, mild tropical fruits with slight malty sweetness and a solid bitter, and dry, finish. Medium body, high carbonation. Good beer overall, very west coast style IPA. Highlights the piney hops.

22oz bomber from Elise. Bright orange-tan body. Big foamy off-white head. Resinous NW hops...orange, grapefruit, pine. The aroma has a little of what I consider to be scorched hop tones..resinous and a little undesirable. A nice beer for the previous decade, this is a touch antiquated for 2014. Drinkable, but you certainly don’t forget how big this beer is. OK...for an antiquated West Coast IIPA.

Serving: bottle. It pours a slightly hazy amber color with a fairly large off white head. Nice hoppy nose with strong citrus and pine notes. The flavor follows suit with lots of pine resin and over ripe citrus fruit. Light malt notes that quickly get washed away. Fairly dry finish with a lingering bitterness. Nice west coast style action.

Bear and IPA go like butter n popcorn? A match made in heaven. They rewrote the Stone handbook on west coast ipa. Don’t try to beat them....you will lose.

Super rich deep copper and bronzed coloured body with a rich orange glow and a pale three centimetre tall head - this is what you want an Imperial IPA to look like! Aroma of grapefruit, oranges, curacao, pine, rich malt, alcohol and way more fruit - apricots, peaches and grapes, very pungent in hop smell and a very intoxicating aroma. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich pungent and dank hop flavours with the grapefruit and pine the strongest and a deep malt note to balance out the tons of hops - all with a subdued fruit flavour at the end. Aftertaste has a ridiculously smooth balance of malt and hops, but of course, the centre of the flavours is around the pungent hopping with grass, herbs and pine noticeable and a touch of resin coupled with the sweetness at the very end. Overall, a very nice Imperial IPA - perhaps one of the best I’ve had, with a rich, but not overwhelming flavour and depth - great to sample, definitely get it if you like the style and can find it! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (Foggy Bottom), DC on 24-February-2014 for US$8.99 sampled at home in Washington on 28-May-2014.

Pours a clear orange with a large slightly off-white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, and light malt. Flavor matches aroma. Very good.

Pours a bright medium orange with a one finger off white head with pretty nice lacing. Aroma is of citrus, pine, tropical fruits, sweet malts, tropical fruits (mainly pineapple), caramel, grassy hops and some light dank hops. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma but also has more sweet malts and some green onion flavor. Has a medium-full body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a slightly dry, moderately bitter, medium-long finish. Overall, a pretty tasty DIPA that might a tad too malty for my tastes.

650 ml. Clear burnt orange with a lasting eighth inch of head. Big nose of pineapple and orange zest, pine resin, and some light caramel. Taste is grapefruit zest, caramel, orange, and minty resin. Medium body has low carbonation and a nice balance.
