Bouteille 66cl @ RBBSG III, courtesy of Benzai.

650 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG III. Thanks to Benzai! Golden. Fruitier kind of DIPA, resin, resin, exotic, pineapple with white grape. Still quite bitter. Nice, nothing special but quite satisfactory.

Bottle @ RBBSG, 2014. Thanks Benzai! Cloudy yellow colour, medium carbonation. Fruity nose, grapefruit. Hoppy bitter finish. Very juicy and light sweet. Very good!

This golden beer has a citrussy grapefruit aroma. It has a a hop bite but it is melliw and finishes clean.

Sampled @ RBBSG III. Clear orange golden color, medium sized white head. Aroma is malts, hops, lightly resin, quite fruity. Tastes the same and I love it: malts, lots of hops, lightly resin, fruity, bitter. Medium body and carbonation.

On draught at Bailey’s Taproom. Clear vibrant golden color. Aroma is passionfruit, grapefruit, orange, and touches of caramel and pine. Taste is a hop bomb of pine resin, passionfruit, tart grapefruit, pineapple, and some sweet malt notes. The hop profile is intense but not bitter. Very well-balanced.

Bottle to Glass. Pours a clear orange with light foam head. Aroma is very piney hops, faint hints of tropical fruit. Smells delicious. Taste is again strong pine hops, pine resin, grass, mild tropical fruits with slight malty sweetness and a solid bitter, and dry, finish. Medium body, high carbonation. Good beer overall, very west coast style IPA. Highlights the piney hops.

22oz bomber from Elise. Bright orange-tan body. Big foamy off-white head. Resinous NW hops...orange, grapefruit, pine. The aroma has a little of what I consider to be scorched hop tones..resinous and a little undesirable. A nice beer for the previous decade, this is a touch antiquated for 2014. Drinkable, but you certainly don’t forget how big this beer is. OK...for an antiquated West Coast IIPA.

Serving: bottle. It pours a slightly hazy amber color with a fairly large off white head. Nice hoppy nose with strong citrus and pine notes. The flavor follows suit with lots of pine resin and over ripe citrus fruit. Light malt notes that quickly get washed away. Fairly dry finish with a lingering bitterness. Nice west coast style action.

Bear and IPA go like butter n popcorn? A match made in heaven. They rewrote the Stone handbook on west coast ipa. Don’t try to beat them....you will lose.
