Draft at Haymarket. Pours an attractive bronze with fluffy head. Nose is fresh piney hops and different. Light fruity note as well. On taste, clean bitterness, though is also quite minerally that is distracting. Good malt backbone and clean finish. Not too shabby.

On tap at Churchkey DC in March 2010. A: Pours a somewhat-dark copper with some orange tints to it. Nice off-white head and a bit of lacing. S: Very nice. Lots of floral and citrus hops with a tad bit of caramel sweetness in the background. T: Lots of hop bitterness. Nothing too overpowering or extraordinary, but certainly not balanced. Citrus and floral hops shine through with a bit of an herbal zest in the background. Some caramel malt in the background. M: Medium bodied with good carbonation and only a hint of alcohol. D: Very drinkable. My glass was gone way too fast. Another great (D)IPA coming from the folks in Healdsburg. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 03-16-2010

Draft. A hazy amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has strong notes of grass, grapefruits, and hops as well as medium notes of caramel and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and malt combined with lots of hops, grapefruit, and citrus fruits as well as hints of hay.

Tap. Big grapefruit aroma, light cereal flavor with some grapefruit going on still. Not much in the way of bitterness. Not BRís best but definitely a nice beer to have occasionally.

Growler from Consumers Beverages (Transit Road). Slightly hazy slightly amberish gold pour, average lasting off-white creamy-foamy head. Interesting aroma - quite a lot of oily cereal grain - sort of halfway between canola and rye - with a strong overlay of grapefruit hops - I think thereís a fair bit of alcohol in there, but I canít make it out over the dominant grain/bitterness. Wow, I really dig the taste of this - it delivers exactly what the aroma promised, but the citrus hops slide right to the front, and the alcohol asserts itself more - itís not huge, but it is quite hop-forward, and the grain/malt backbone is there for minimal structure. Chewy, dry, slightly boozy mouthfeel, lightly carbonated, with a long, dry, citrus zest/pith finish ... I look forward to drinking this bastard dry! *** later note - this beer has, oddly, a little of that house character of the Dugganís beers here in Toronto - the cereal grain seems a bit toasty and sulfur-like - nothing unpleasant, perhaps itís the water?

Had at Caponeís. Pours a clear orange. Aroma is a nice hop balanced with some hints of bread. Flavor is mild bitter hops. Smooth and delicious.
