Bottle. California all the way. Pours a shiny golden amber with a bright white head of fizzy foam. The aroma is fully floral, a virtual garden in full bloom. This drink with a full-up creamsicle flourish, piled on with flowering west coast hops, too. Definitely made to appeal to the left coast, a bit out of balance IMHO. But still worthy of some props, a hit with its intended audience for sure. (#5465, 3/16/2014)

Excellent! Nicely bitter yet smooth and drinkable. Pine filled. Linger doesn’t over stay it’s welcome.

UPDATED: MAR 16, 2014 22oz bottle, shared with Robby and Alicia. Mostly me, though. Bottle reads best by 06/05/2014. Mostly clear golden harley davidson orange / rust color. Thin, kind of bubbly ring of off-white head. Dots and ropes of lace. Leaves pretty decent lace, towards the end. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Great big resiny grapefruity hop aroma. I can smell it from feet away. Tons of good grapefruity hop. Good bigger bitter taste. Light sweet taste. Good light hint of the 9% alcohol. Very nice, smooth, enjoyable DIPA. Pretty reasonably drinkable.

Wow. aroma is a huge, massive citrus BOMB. Nice piney notes as well. There’s a nice breadiness in the aroma, really balances nicely with the massive hop presence. Taste is just unbelievable. Fantastically bitter, it’s like drinking fresh squeezed grapefruit, mango, pineapple, orange, and any other citrus/tropical fruit juice that exists. Slightly sticky mouthfeel, dry finish. This is just a wonderful beer to drink, and a great DIPA. Surprised it’s not rated a 100.

Pours clear amber with a great creamy lacing off white head. Fruity citric tropical fruits pineapple slightly sweet in both aroma and flavor. Very nice balanced fruity bitter finish.

I either absolutely love or feel very ’ehh’ about Bear’s IPAs. To me this tastes like a bigger version of Racer 5... good but not great. Very mild floral aroma leads into confusion as the hop flavors are almost overly citrus with tons of lemon and orange marmalade mixed with just a little spicey pine. Also, for the ABV I would like to see this be more bitter. If you prefer Cafe Racer 15 this may be a skip. If however you love Racer 5 this might be a gem.

22 oz Bottle. The aroma has a strong citrus scent, pine & some resin. The taste is very hoppy upfront with a lot of citrus notes. Overall a great DIPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours beautifull hazy orange with perfect head.Grapefruit, orange, peach on the nose. Nice body and wonderfull balance. Smooth finish. Bitter linger is subtle for a big IPA. There?s funky hop with restraint. Great beer!

Bottle, from the Beer Dispensary, Apex. Good aroma, sweet. Pine, orange, grapefruit. Little perfumy. Clean golden orange color, small head that faded quick spotty lace, bitter sweet flavor. Medium body, viscous oily mouthfeel, bitter finish. It’s good, wondering how it’s an IPA and not iipa, but whatever. Not a powerful aroma, bigger in flavor, not grabbing my full attention.

650ml bottle pours a pale amber color without much head. Full hop flavor but easy going. Mild bitterness lingering at the end.
