3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Pizza Plant Transit, post-extreme beer fest. Alcohol aroma, golden colour, lots of white ace, some white head. Medium mouthfeel. 100+ IBU, and really tasty, but somewhat of a palate shreddy. Good drinkability.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft... GABF ’06... Hazy yellow ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Floral and fruity; pineapple and grapefruit nose. The flavor is medium sweet and medium bitter with toffee and pink grapefruit. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with lively carbonation. Astringent, bitter finish.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle offered @ home via rotefridge. Pours a touch hazy, dark orange appearance with a cream colored head. Tropical fruit forward hops in the aroma, especially melon, mango, and tangerine. Some spicy / piney hops in there as well. Pretty creamy and smooth mouth feel. Definitely orange and melons in the flavor. Maybe a touch old, as some of the spiciness appears to have faded a bit which leads to be of bready and bitter notes. Probably a 3.8-3.9 fresh, but I’m going to peg it at a 3.6 right now.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap on Paradiso. Pours a clear orange with a two finger tan head. Excellent retention and lacing. Very nice beta acid hoppy nose with floral hops, mango peel, grapefruit rind. Taste has some distinct booziness with pineapple rum and light mango. Not outstanding. Very boozy even though it is only 7.5%.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Growler from Craft Ale, and a pint at Capone’s, my two current favorite beer hangouts. The pour is dark straw, more toward gold than brown, with 1-finger of well retained off-white head. The nose is heavy piney hops, caramel malt, some fruit, peppery spice, tangerine. Tastes assertively hoppy with a good malt balance, and some finishing fruit. Well incorporated alcohol makes this one very easy to drink, and a damned fine IIPA. Give me another growler of this one any day of the week, and twice when my wife isn’t around.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 16, 2014 22oz bottle, shared with Robby and Alicia. Mostly me, though. Bottle reads best by 06/05/2014. Mostly clear golden harley davidson orange / rust color. Thin, kind of bubbly ring of off-white head. Dots and ropes of lace. Leaves pretty decent lace, towards the end. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Great big resiny grapefruity hop aroma. I can smell it from feet away. Tons of good grapefruity hop. Good bigger bitter taste. Light sweet taste. Good light hint of the 9% alcohol. Very nice, smooth, enjoyable DIPA. Pretty reasonably drinkable.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
one of the better brews in the dipa fest, though not quite at the top. every hoppy beer BR has done has been quite good, and this one’s no exception. big citrus and pine with just enough malt to not be a palate wrecker. a touch thicker than Racer 10."

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the Blind Tiger’s VSK3 event. Pours a hazy golden orange with a thick yellowed white head. Crisp citrus, a little bit of pineapple. Amazing given that this was the 08. It’s definitely held up well. Sweet caramel, just a bit oxidized. Long grapefruit bitterness.

Tap at the brewpub. Clear rich golden orange pour with a small white head. Earthy hops with a bit of citrus and grapefruit. Absolutely an English / West Coast mix. Pretty good.
