4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Dickinsonbeer (5076) - Hoboken, USA - MAR 29, 2009
Tap at Capones. Pours a nice somewhat clear orangey amber with a nice massive lasting whtie sticky head- good palce as well. Aroma is very fresh- tons of PNW hops- fresh this years batch of Columbus- piney gritty, sappy, and almost has a raw weed- very skunky in a good way with hints of mint to the hops. Flavor is also packed with citrus and piney hops with hints of mint and week, very raw, slight earth, ok caramel sweetness just for a backbone, but the mid palate and finish are just a shit ton of raw hoppy bitterness that has some serious power to it- very resinous. Awesome.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3381) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 22, 2012
Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 Beers this beer poured a hazy orange-amber color with a medium sized foamy orange-white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was very strong orange, moderate lemon, pine, pineapple and grapefruit. The flavor was sweet and tangy caramel, honey, strong orange and grapefruit and moderate lemon, pineapple and pine. The finish was very long and sweet with honey, orange and grapefruit lingering. Thick and full body. Wonderful!

This 7.5 ABV makes this DIPA drink like a standard IPA. Very good if you are not looking for a boozy hop bomb.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Gr0ve (1875) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 7, 2012
Draught. Amber and hazy. Floral citrusy aroma. Light sweet malts. Sharp bittering hops. Overall this works out really well ending in a nicely balanced IPA.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 MadIndian (1902) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 2, 2012
Nice bitter hop presence. A good blend of caramel malt, pine and floral hop.
A real stand up IPA with a full fluff body.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ROGUE (1360) - Newark, Delaware, USA - MAR 9, 2012
On tap (State Line Liquors tasting). Pours clear golden amber color with a two finger white head. Very piney in the aroma with plenty of citrus and malt sweetness. Taste is very smooth. The piney hops dominate the flavor, but is overall very balanced with the sweet maltiness that lies in the background. Medium body with a slightly sticky feel and a long lasting bitterness.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 KickInChalice (771) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 29, 2012
From notes. First reviewed 1/4/2011. Served on tap at Fountainhead in a tulip.
Apex pours an amber copper color, really transparent. A pillowy white head rests on top and demonstrates good retention, leaving a web of sticky lace as the level of beer recedes.
Lightly roasted English barley, mostly grapefruit citrus hops, and some leafy hop aroma as well. A fairly light aroma overall.
The taste starts out with a very light pale malt presence -- it is clear that pale and Carapils malts were used -- before releasing it’s 100+ IBU’s on my palette. Some leafy hop flavor, but I get a ton of grapefruit and pine hops as well. The flavor is bitter and carries through the finish.
The feel is moderately dry, some resiny hop oil left on the tongue. Light to medium carbonation and a medium body.
After Hop Rod Rye, which is one of my favorite IPA’s, I was expecting something amazing, and I got something good. Not disappointed, but maybe a little bit underwhelmed.

On draft at SL. Thanks, Robert! Pour was an amber color with a very nice head, ok lacing. Aroma of some citrus and pine. Flavor mostly of that and not much else, malts subdued, and relative to expectations to a bigger and badder racer 5.... Long sigh... Mouthfeel was moderate to light for the style.
