COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrel 23 Wild Ale is a blend of XP Pale Ale and Dry Creek Zinfandel grapes that is refermented in an oak barrel with wild yeast. After a year-long maturation, this tart, earthy and fruity beer offers a unique example of the terroir of Sonoma County.

Berry fruit flavors, some pinkish hues, mostly lacto sour notes with acetic edges. Medium sour. slightly spritzy. Light tannic bite. Some background bits of funk. Slightly sweet. Clean, well done and without flaws. What if this were bone dry and had more sour expressiveness? Promising stuff. Bummed I missed the Berliner Weisse which was finished yesterday. Does Bear have a rich sour program? I’ll ask. Kinda stoked.
