Sampled at the Bistro 7th Annual Barrel Aged Festival on 11/10/2012. This sour/wild ale pours a dark brown color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is tart, sour and funky with some fruitiness. A medium bodied wild/sour ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, tart and funky. The hops are earthy. Decent carbonation. Tart and funky. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is tart.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 14/20
Experienced at the Tap Room. A psychedelic beer experience. Brett? big wine barrel, tart tart, cherry. Lots of malt to take down the acidity. The tannic wine dominates. Very dark brown to black, some head and lace. This is tannic, lactic, some astringency. A sipper at best in drinkability. A lot of ideas here. Medium bodied. A hint of chocolate malt and vanilla.
Brewers’ notes: proprietary Scottish Ale Yeast, along with Somoma County wild bacteria. Nugget and Liberty hops; IBU below 25. A blend of several dark ales.
