COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Grizz is back in this Limited Edition barrel aged release. Refermented in the barrel with local nectarines, the intense maltiness of The Grizz serves as a delivery vehicle for the essence of the fruit, balanced by bright nectarine acid & tannins and the earthy sour character of the native micro flora & fauna of Dry Creek Valley.

On tap at Bar Great Harry. Pours a hazy deep black with a medium sized beige head. My first thought is “Where’s the nectarine?” Seriously, there was nothing on the nose to indicate that a nectarine had come into the same room as this beer, let alone being incorporated into it’s production. It does smell decidedly different from the two other treatments (oak aged, and prickly pear) that were on tap at the event. Malt, vanilla, a little funk. Medium bodied, chocolate and roast. No nectarine flavor either. Odd. Light sourness, but not much of it. Finishes up malty with some more gentle sourness, and a touch of wood. Still good, but probably would have been excellent if the nectarine came through to balance out some of the malt.
