Beerenberger (1596) - Fischer, Texas, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Aroma of roasted malts and dark fruit. Pours pure black with a mostly diminishing tan head. The taste is primarily bitter. Burnt malts, with hints of coffee and chocolate. Medium-full body with soft carbonation. Given the nice bitter taste, a surprisingly smooth mouthfeel. Overall, a very nice imperial stout. Would drink again.

Very rubbery aroma, black grommits. Dark, brief head. Very nice savoury soy taste. Medium palate, carbonation a bit low. Finish roasty, and very soyey and savoury. Odd one, not bad, but not good either.

pours Black color, clear, with unstable half a finger tan light brown head like a espresso coffee. Aroma: intense dark malt aroma, which takes on bittersweet chocolate, supported with roasted malts, which takes on espresso coffee, and hops, with notes of pine and some dark fruits, like prunes, dates. Flavor: Similar to aroma: rich dark and roasted malts flavors, with notes of bittersweet chocolate, cocoa powder, espresso coffee, with hint of licorice, cinnamon, supported with hop flavors, which takes on dark fruits, menitoned above. Body is full, creamy, velvety texture, with low carbonation. Alcohol is very well hidded. Big beer for so "low" abv.

Nice deep chocolate color with tan head. Aroma is chocolate, dried fruit, roasted malt, a little booze. Flavor is chocolate, licorice, dark caramel, subltle hop citrus. Light to medium mouth feel, a little less than expected, nice carbonation level. Slight metallic flavor when the beer was out of fridge - definitely gone once warmed up. Pretty nice.
