Soonah (454), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA May 6, 2008 Poured the expected ultra-dark brown with a nice two-finger tall light brown head. Spots of lacing. The aroma was light caramel malts, thin chocolate, some coffee and some earthy, piney hoppiness hanging around n the background. The flavor was chocolate, light coffee and caramel malts with some definite presence of citrus hops. The carbonation was on the high side causing the mouthfeel to disappoint a bit. A very nice stout but a pretty average imperial stout.

Bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville. Dark brown pour w/ medium head. Good lacing and retention. Slightly bitter coffee and chocolate aroma. Chocolate dominates the taste, but there are fairly assertive espresso notes also. Smooth and full.
mansquito (568), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Jul 13, 2008 Pours with a huge, long-lasting tan head. Black body, surprised? Rich espresso and roasted malt aroma. Tangy taste of roasted malts. Slightly bitter hops and expensive coffee. Thick beer that leaves a lingering aftertaste. Very slight hint of not too sweet chocolate in the taste as well. Alcohol is undetectable. highibus (217), Vail, Arizona, USA Jun 28, 2008 Pours a deep black with a super fluffy tan head. I guess lacing will happen in the next half hour or so when it drops finally. Flavor is super roasted malt and some biscuit. Medium to full body with a nice lingering roasted malt finish. davidCC (119), New York, USA Jun 28, 2008 Pours dark brown/black with tan head. A very nice dark stout with hints of chocolate and coffee. Very smooth as you would expect and pleasantly bitter. sja14 (40), Ohio, USA Jun 26, 2008 Pours black with dissipating light brown head. Aroma is malty and sweet. Flavor is dry with malty coffee hints. Not really any alcohol flavor which is good for a 8.1% dry imperial stout.
