Bottle from Brewdog.com shop. Black pour with a medium size tan head. Decent aroma of chocolate, berry fruit and a little roast . Smooth creamyish mouthfeel. Sweet, powdery drinking chocolate flavour that was similar to the nose. A little bitterness towards the finish. ABV well smothered. Really enjoyed this.

Shame I had a bit of a stuffy nose tonight. This one was nice and hoppy, which was a surprise. The cascade hops are probably to blame. Really sweet also though. Gonna keep this one short. I liked it

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell during the Peter’s leaving do. Picked up somewhere about five years ago. Pours deep black with a large, frothy khaki head. The nose holds a bit of milk chocolate, burnt toffee, soft roast. Medium sweet flavor with lots of dry chocolate, toasted caramel, some tobacco, scorched earth, coffee beans. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with ample ashy roast, mild notes of oxidation, bittersweet cocoa, raisins. Drinking pretty well for the age but you can certainly detect the age.

Pours ruby-black with an average size light brown head. Aroma is very hoppy with roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and sweet. Taste is quite good-- hops, sweet malts, chocolate, roasted coffee, molasses and much more. Impressive!

Bottle sample at a tasting at Alexey & Rafaela’s place. Thanks Tom L. Black with a small tan head. Lovely big chocolate aroma. Sweet flavor with chocolate and roast. Medium to full-bodied, quite rounded. Very good.

double deuce - nose is licorice, dark chocolate, and candy sugar. Sip adds a sincere yum. Aftertaste is what the coffee must have tasted like in Twin Peaks when "a fish took a liking to my percolator". Lots of flavor and decent taste, but the body is thin. Nice bitter finish that is complex. Odd aftertaste, if you didn’t get that from the fish comment.

Bomber. Pours dark brown almost black with a decent mocha head. Nice lacing which lasts. Sweet chocolate, caramel, light coffee. Nice creamy mouth feel. Great finish.

22 oz bottle shared with ebone1988. The pour is a dark brown bordering on light black with a very light tan head and some decent lace. The aroma is pretty good. There is a good roast and a nice dark chocolate to accompany a good fig presence and a nice dark fruit addition. The flavor has a little dark fruit, some roast and then it turns to water. There is a hint of licorice and then it falls apart. The mouth feel is thin and watery. Carbonation wouldn't, and doesn't, help this one out. The aftertaste is lightly chocolatey and nothing else. For the aroma this packed, it's amazingly disappointing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared with koleminer20. Aroma is licorice, roasted malt, heavy. Appearance is black, light brown head. Taste is...a mess. Starts as you’d expect, finishes like...no flavor. I’m blown away. Mouthfeel is the same, I feel like the aftertaste is from my last beer. Finishes so quickly. Overall...not good.

Bottle: Clear, very dark brown to black. with good head & lace. This beer has a great aroma. Chocolate, anise, spice & roast. Off dry to dry, not sour but very better. This beer has massive flavor & a great creamy texture. The rich mouthfeel really balanced the bitterness. Love the length & the depth of flavor. Chocolate, coffee & roasted spice.

Black brown wit medium body. Nose of dark malts, light coffee, green hops. Dark malts, cof fee and cocoa flavors, green vegetal hops. Terrific creamy mouthfeel with high carbonation. More like a black IPA to me, but whatever is good stuff.
