Commercial Description:
Big Bear, as the name implies, is a hefty, black, Russian Imperial-style stout. This strong stout boasts a rich, caramel sweetness lavished by a robust, deep-roasted heartiness you can sink your teeth into... Big Bear's bold flavors are produced using a blend of Belgian and English roasted barley and crystal malts. Some unique flavors come forth in the malt character...Louisiana sweet molasses and dark brown sugar. This dark brew is well hopped with Chinook and Cascade hops, which are somewhat, masked by the malt. This is a balanced strong brew boasting an ABV of 8.1% that can creep up on you, "so don't get mauled". It has a dry roasted quality that masks its high alchohol content, so drink responsibly.

Courtesy of Idatetheformula, Pours deep black light brownish/nuttz head. Aroma is oaky, roasted, Taste is dry roasted. some nice caramel malts. lightly hoppy and a lightly bitter finish. This was a great beer to have and would love to try more of their beers,

On tap at The Roadhouse in Brookline. The body is a pure black and does not fade at the edges. My glass arrived with a small, almost gone, tan head that never seemed to reappear. The smell seemed subdued with faint chalky, bready notes and hints of caramel. Flavor is full of roast sweet malts and a surprising abundance of floral hops. The mouthfeel was heavy, as expected, but the hop presence definitely lightened the mood and made this more like a sessionable stout, if that is possible.

Pours pitch black with a huge creamy mocha head with good retention and some sticky-icky lacing. Aroma is very hoppy, roasted malts, semi-sweet chocolate, and a hint of bitter coffee. Taste is somewhat bitter, but the hoppiness is much more citric than oddly bitter (ahem...Ten Fidy). Mouthfeel is creamy and there is a nice overall taste of roasted malts with some chocolate and coffee to spice up the finish a bit. I wouldn’t really consider this an Impy, though. Great beer for the price!

Bomber pours dark brown with a medium beige head. Slightly sweet aroma hints of roasted malts, and some hops. Taste is of burnt malts some coffee and a slightly hppy bitter finish. Mouth feel is slightly thin to medium, but clean. Pretty basic stout, nothing stands out though.

Bomber that I may have had before, but hell I hadn’t rated it and its a locally available imperial stout. Pours black with a tan ring. Nose is sweet and slightly maltty sweet. Taste is rich with a big kick of coffee and overall damn nice hoppy bite. Pretty tasty.

Pours with decent light brown head and has smokey aroma. Drank at 50. It is pretty complex and goes down quite smooth. A pretty decent beer that is enjoyable to drink
