From a bomber, pours jet black with a small white head, aroma of roasty chocolate malts with a nice piney hop presence, with some citrus tang coming through. Carbonation average. Finish is well balanced, bitter but crisp, very moreish. Great beer.

Had on draft at the brewery. Pine, chocolate, woody, alcohol is noticeable, citrusy, a nice big black IPA.m.

Has a nice, dark flavor and retains a hoppiness as advertised. Smooth but not too extreme, certainly flavorful. Not my favorite from BR, but I’m glad I tried it.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a thin black with a small brown head. Aromas of spicy hops and roasted malt. Carbonation is very, very low. Almost flat. Tastes is very hop forward with a roasty finish. Almost too much roast for a Black IPA. finishes pretty dry with a lingering hop bite. Decent, but would be miles better with some decent carbonation.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Big, bold, and black. Everything roasted out IPA should be, yet this is more in the Black DIPA catagory, though the 8.1% is well hidden. Lots of roast, chocolate malts, and a big swoosh of burnt bitter hoppy goodness at the end. Great brew.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A tannic red/india pale ale aroma. Decent label, 22oz bomber; clear, ruby black-brown with an impressive, dense tan head. A buffered, chalky roast and hops aroma. LIghtly sweet, tangy, moderately roasted, properly hoppy, powdered cocoa flavors. A muddled mouthfeel - frothy, pasty, undercarbonated but mouthy. Acidic finish. Respectable, but less than I was expecting. Market Square Liquors, Timberlane.

Bottle. Pours nearly black with creme colored head that dissipates. Very mild carbonation. Bitter chocolate flavors up front with mellow hop flavors on the end. Nice black ipa.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
More roasty than hoppy aroma, kind of a fruity, chocolate coffee. Those flavors tailgate onto the palate, onlong with an ample dose of hop bitters. Finishes with dark malt dryness and that bitterness. The porter vs IPA bout on my tongue leaves much confusion. If I rate it as a hopped up strong porter, it’s top notch. As a BIPA, only middling.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber from Coral Bay in Greeley. Pours a dark black with a tan head leaving a lot of spotty lacing. Aroma has black patent malts, citrus, caramel and pine. Taste is of sweet caramel malts, bitter citrus, fruity hops and molasses. Medium bodied. Somewhat syrupy but dry-ish in the finish. Finishes terrifically bittersweet - good blend of both the citrusy bitterness and the sweet molasses. A nice one!

Seems to be missing some of the stouty taste. Not amazing but very drinkable. Aaaaaaaa
