Café Racer 15™ features aromas of bright citrus and resinous pine from the generous use of Citra, Amarillo, Cascade and Chinook hops which are complimented by a dry malt finish. The result is a high revving Double IPA that is loud and assertive, much like the rebellious street racers who inspired it. Never ride alone...

This was a joint tasting with Strylkzone. Pours an orange color with a foamy off-white head and moderate lacing. Nose is powerful with a solid caramel malt base and lots of hops including citrus, pine, and tropical fruit. Relatively full bodied. Flavor is tropical fruit, citrus, pine with again that solid caramel malt base. It finishes dry and moderately bitter but not overly so. This is a very well crafted beer and enjoyable from start to finish.

Tannish and a bit hazy, with a bubbly head. Very melony, hints of grapefruit, light florals. It’s a bit chewy, but with more of those melon hops. The malts end up being quite assertive, chewy (from Cali, big shock, huh?), and alcohol kicks in late. All these hops, to me, demand a cleaner, lighter body.

Bomber purchased at Escondido BevMo ($7.99). Pours a hazy golden amber hue with two fingers of fluffy white head. AROMA of sharp pine needles, bright and sweet citrus, salty sea air, some stone fruit, and resinous/herbal hops. FLAVOR of citric / floral / herbal hops, pine/cedar, all very balanced with a good amount of caramel malts. Nice semi-sweet and semi-bitter finish. The high ABV is completely concealed. I waited a little too long to open this, so the freshness is suspect...but the big hops do still come through quite nicely. (262, 854)

Gotta drink this young. This Is my last and 4th I think. Young it is spectacular, does not age well as one would expect. Still worth drinking!

Bottled: unk Pours a turbid nice amber color with a solid toasted cream top. Smells nice and resiny, with pine, then some grapefruit and tangerine. Flavor is more malty than the nose would let on. Not bitter, but plenty of hop influence, some more resin and citris pith. The malts are slightly sweet and have a solid caramel character. Full bodied with tight, moderately high carb and a thick finish. Cool mouthfeel. Nice beer.

Thanks Paul! Yellow orange pour with a small white head. Aroma is dank hops, resin and citrus. Taste follows... Dank earthy hops, solid malt backbone. Best I have had from bear republic.

22oz in Seattle. Hazy medium, woody orange. Bubbly foam. Fruity yeast. Soft alcohol hop. Big beer, dry alc. Juicy. A bit muddled, I’m confused. Alc sweetness. Eh, doesn’t add up.

Murky orange. Big, juicy, dank hops on the nose. Lots of mandarin fruit and sweet caramel malt in the flavor. This tastes a lot like something from 3Floyds to me, with just a slightly higher hop content. A bit on the flat side. Tasty!

Lower rating b/c this is an old bottle, cant discern the freshnes date but March or July of 2013. Pours an medium bronzed orange and carfamel color. Head is light, thin, large, soapy, and transparent. Lacing is ok looking and sporadic. Aroma is boozy, almost like sniffing a shot of liquor, ideal for the abv here I guess, citrus undertones, orange, melon, red grape, pine, sap, and more orange. Taste is boozy, hops are juicy and bountiful, but the booze seems to overpower the aftertaste and the nice hop mixture, has to be the age of this brew, Pugnent hops do enter in the taste, dank resinous feel of pine, weed, grass, and murky old soil. Drinkability is a bit tough at times, due to the immense booze relation in the smell and taste, hot damn, tequila, and white rum are all over, not what i look for in a dipa. Guess I should have looked at the bottle. Still, this is a bit tolerable and with the hops and citrus in mind its not that bad. Sampled in a 23oz bulbous wheath glass.
