Sampler at the brewpub. Blonde color. Biscuity aroma and flavor. No real Belgian influence noted. Decent blonde ale, but nothing that really speaks to me.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (7299) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - MAY 11, 2012
Draught. Arbitrary score 4/5 for Appearance, as nighttime conditions prevented correct assessment. Fruity nose, yeasty, but mildly so; bananester and pineapple(ester). Again those fruity-sweet esters, but with a dry grainy background. Even a touch from USA-hops. Light to medium bodied, quite slick, mineral water quality. Nice. Seems to miss a tad more body, but easily drinkable for sure.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Nik925 (694) - California, USA - MAR 26, 2012
Really disappointed in this one...reallllly missed the mark. Nutty malt upfront, bad aftertaste, and some of the mellowest Belgian yeast ever. I know singles are hard to come by (as when someone wants a Belgian, they want to taste it) but this just gets lost in the wash. Would love to try a double Cher Ami or a barrel aged Cher Ami. haha
