Bear Republic Crystal Wit

The menu had this listed as just Wit Beer. I assume this is the correct beer to rate... Thanks to my wife, I got to try this one on our trip to BR. Not the classic wheat, it was smooth and subtly spiced without the over the top sweetness or cloying yeast presence. Unfiltered and served in a tall pilsner glass with a lemon wedge. Some citrus, but not much.

~Pours a cloudy yellow with small white head. ~Corriander, bananna yeast scent along with some citrus. ~taste of spice/clove, corriander and yeast. Some hops towards the end. ~Light feel, quick finish ~A good refreshing light beer.

Poured from at Bear Republic a light blonde with large white head. Aromas of wheat, malt, citrus, clove. Flavor is big banana, clove, bubblegum, wheat and citusy spice. This one has a good deal of sweetness at the get go, but mellows out toward the end with a big malt presence throughout. labeled as just Wit 4.8%. I really liked this one on a hot 90 degree day with my barbeque sandwich.

Pint pour @ Hop Devil Grill. The beer pours a clean dark yellow with a strong sticky head. Aroma is very nice for the style, starts with a thick musky coriander and spikes of lemon. Some sweet candy aroma as well. Its easy drinking without being watery; coriander and a mineral mouthfeel in the finish make it very enjoyable.

Tap at Hop Devil Grill. Pale amber beer with a thin white head. Aroma of lemon and peach with a bit of clove. Thin-bodied but okay. Some decent doughy maltiness and a bit of apricot and belgian pale malt. Not terribly wheaty tasting, but it’s quite nice nonetheless.
