On tap at The Red in Santa Cruz. Poured into a pint glass. Clear gold with thick but watery white head. Aroma is earthy with some toasty grains. Flavors of dough with a touch of toffee. Some vague noble hoppiness. Thin and well-carbonated. Pretty boring.

On tap at Tally Ho. Golden amber color with no head. Carbonation. Aroma of yeast. Flavor of bread, malts, and some honey. Sweet aftertaste. Average beer, but much better than a Corona.

Tap at BT. Pours a slightly darker than expected- deep golden copper- for a pale mexican lager- thin head. Aroma is straight up mexican lager- nice spicy slight metallicy- (in a good way) modelo yeast character- doughy but then it gets cut off and turns more crisp and herbal with hops. Flavor has a light pils malt backbone- slight herbal and spicy hop sand a really refreshing mexican yeast bite in the end. This and the Roso make me really interested to try using the modelo yeast for future lagers.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a pale yellow color with a small white head. Has a malty grainy aroma. Malty grainy flavor with some citrus hoppy hints. Has a sweetish malty grainy finish with some hoppy hints in the aftertaste.

Draft at the brewpub. Amber color with a decent white head (and a lime slice). The aroma is mostly lime slice! Medium body with mild foamy carbonation. Flavor is mild near caramel with a little grassy hop. Very interesting lager. Quite drinkable.

Tap at the Gate. Hazy amber beer with a very creamy white head. Aroma is lightly malty and sweet. There is a kiss of soft crusty breadiness as well with a touch of earthiness. A little bit of herbal character and even a touch of DMS. Kind of a strange brew really. It really does resemble modelo, which is kind of cool, but I could think of much better beers to clone.

On tap pours light gold with a small white head. Clean lager nose, a touch sulfery and with just the softest notes of malt and hops. Very clean tasting, soft and simple, but is the sort of bear you wish just had a nice crisp hop finish to it. Instead just balanced and unexciting, but not meant to be. Replicated a clean Mexican lager but slightly better, but I’m not going to get too excited about it.

Exactly as expected. It is a craft beer version of a Mexican lager (Corona, etc.) It might be the best Mexican lager I have had, but it still wasn’t worth getting excited about.

~Pours a light golden caramel color. Diminishing head. ~Light malt honey sweet scent. ~Sweet wheaty taste folowed with slight bitter. Nice flavor that I wasn’t expecting. ~Light feel. Crisp clean finish. ~ A great summer brew. I found this to be delicious!
