Oso Rojo, “Red Bear,” is a crisp red lager with caramel undertones and a wisp of hop aroma. Brewed with Munich and a blend of crystal malts, Centennial hops, and our House Lager yeast.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Amber-orange beer. Aroma is a bit sweet and viennaish. There is sort of a sticky sweetness and a bit of candyish sweetness. A hint of caramel and a bit of toastiness. Not bad per se, but it is kind of strange.

Pours reddish copper with a thin off-white head and a floral aroma. There is a slightly sweet light malt flavor with some carbonation.

Light copper brown with a fizzy off white head. Malty aroma and taste with notes of molasses sweetness. Decent.

Draft at BT. Pours a red amber body with a white head. Grainy, husk, dry earth and a hint of honey. Caramel and grain to finish.

Tap at BT. Pours a nice mostly clear bright reddish amber with a nice fluffy yet short lived head. Aroma is nutty, sweet caramel, sharp sweet brown sugar, and the modelo yeast kick - but not as herbal or spicy as the golden- just more sweetness. Flavor is also honey sweet with some straight forward crystal malts, light toasty character- but not enough of that and no nutty hint. About between an american amber lager and a mexican amber- quite far from a real vienna. Not a bad mexican lager.

Tap @ Bailey’s Taproom... Poured amber/orange with an off-white head, nice lacing. Malty, cracker-like aroma. Foamy palate with citrus fruit flavors. Candy-like and a subtle, vegetable earthiness from the hops. Finished grainy and malty.

On tap at Seraveza. Amber body with a small white head. Grainy sweetness throughout. I don’t remember the last time I had Modelo, so it is a bit hard to compare, but sure, tastes kinda like that. Sides sweeter, but I didn’t really enjoy much of this.

On tap at the Blind TIger, NYC. Ruby red colour. Good strong chocolate, toffee and caramel aroma. The flavour is much the same. Smooth and easy to drink. Strangely enjoyed it.

Tasted 4/7/11. Pint from The Royale (St. Louis). Filtered with an amber hue. Spotty off-white head. Aromasof mild cereal grains. Medium bodied with a really nice toasty, nutty flavor. A somewhat ebbed effervescence only adds to the malty richness. A nice rolling palate with this awesome shortbread cookie flavor. A really nice body and solid flavors! This was WAY better than I expected or anticipated! Mild and tame, but spot on for what it is!

Draught. Poured red with thick white head. Much lacing. Malty and biscuity aroma with a hop edge. Malty flavour, tasted like a good helles despite the colour. Finish a bit thin, some hop in there. Parts didn’t quite marry/
